In 2024, we were over 70% for cash lineups again and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 8 of the 2025 season!
You’re welcome.
As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups. Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below. Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!
Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season!

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games. They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.
Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.
First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:
- For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.
Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games. Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.
As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider. You’re welcome.
So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 8 contests.
FanDuel
Draft Kings
Yahoo! DFS
Game Notes:
- For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS. We all know that the likes of Josh Allen and Jahmyr Gibbs are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week. But remember that DFS is a salary cap game. You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around. I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
- My approach to DFS in Week 8 is to anchor my lineup with solid RBs and then get value at WR and TE.
- No “Free Square of the Week”™ in Week 8, but still plenty of value.
- The Chicago Bears @ Baltimore Ravens game has the second highest over/under of the main slate (49.5), so there’s plenty of potential here.
- The Bears defense is getting better, but they still allow the 11th most PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs this season, and the Ravens are likely getting Lamar Jackson back under center. That should open up some running lanes for Derek Henry to get going, particularly after a bye week. He’s priced down due to recent performance without Jackson, so take advantage now. I don’t mind sprinkling in Jackson, but temper expectations in his first game back from a hamstring injury.
- UPDATE: Lamar Jackson has been ruled OUT for this week so temperature expectations for all Ravens players. I’m still in on Derek Henry, but feel free to pivot.
- The Ravens defense have been an absolute disaster. They’re getting healthier off the bye, but they’ve allowed the 2nd most PPR fantasy points to opposing QBs and opposing RBs and 5th most PPR fantasy points to opposing WRs this season. In total, the Ravens have allowed the most points per game to opposing offenses (32.3). Add in the potential negative script as the Bears play catch up to the Ravens and that puts all the Bears skill players in play, including Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze and D’Andre Swift. If you’re feeling spicy, you can also sprinkle in Colston Loveland with Cole Kmett out and Kyle Monangai, who had a breakout game next week even with Swift going bonkers.
- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints game only has an over/under of 46.5, but the scoring potential is definitely there.
- The Bucs are coming off one of their worst performances against the Lions in Week 7 and are in a prime bounce back position against the Saints defense that’s allowed the 6th most points per game (26.6) to opposing offenses this season. With Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving out, we’ll be back to Tez Johnson and Cade Otton as primary targets plus a healthy dose of Rachaad White. I like all 3 and they make for some nice cap savings.
- The Bucs defense hasn’t been bad, but they do allow the 10th most yards per game to opposing WRs (251.6), so I like Chris Olave this week, particularly in a likely negative game script. Olave is leading the Saints in target share and air yards share by a significant amount, so the opportunity is there.
- The Dallas Cowboys @ the Denver Broncos have the highest over/under of the week (50.5), but I’m more in on the Broncos than the Cowboys.
- The Cowboys’ defense hasn’t been able to stop anything, allowing the most yards (401.6) and 3rd most points (29.4) per game in the league. Bo Nix had, quite possibly, the biggest quarter in fantasy football history in Week 7 as he led a massive 33-point comeback by throwing for 2 TDs and running for 2 TDs in just the 4th quarter. I love the momentum and the opportunity here, so I’m all in on Nix as well as his top target, Courtland Sutton.
- Week 7 aside, the Broncos defense has been pretty solid allowing the 4th least points per game to opposing offenses this season (18.1). If you’d like, CeeDee Lamb is probably match-up proof and Dak Prescott has been on a heater, but I’m not looking for too much Cowboys exposure.
- The Dolphins allow the most rush yards per game (159.3) with the 3rd highest yards per carry (5.2) and the 3rd most rushing TDs (9) of any team in the NFL. Bijan Robinson, who has the 3rd most rush yards (87.33) and 2nd most receiving yards (65) per game of any RB in the NFL this season, is on tap next and has a terrific opportunity to smash. If you’re going to pay up at RB, Robinsons should be clearly in your sites. The Dolphins also allow the 11th most PPR fantasy points to opposing TEs, so if you’re looking to save cap space, Kyle Pitts is worth considering.
- I don’t think I have to sell you on Jonathan Taylor, who has the most rushing yards (99.57) and rushing TDs (1.43) per game of any RB in the NFL this season. He gets to face the Titans defense that the second worst defense against the run in the NFL which means he’ll likely destroy them. He’s the most expensive RB on the slate, so it’s tough to fit him in, but he makes for a terrific anchor.
- Tee Higgins gets to face the Jets this week, who have the worst pass defense in the NFL and will be missing top CB Sauce Gardner. The Jets have allowed WR2s to smash all season since Gardner would typically shadow the WR1, but this week may be just pure carnage without Gardner. Gets the savings from Higgins and slot him in. And for the same reason, Joe Flacco makes for an excellent value play as well.

Smith is coming off a huge 183 yard and 1 TD performance in Week 7, and he makes for a decent value this week against the Giants middling defense.
- And speaking of Giants, Wan’Dale Robinson is Jaxson Dart‘s favorite target, and he gets to face the Eagles 22nd ranked pass defense. He had 84 yards and a TD last time they faced off and I wouldn’t be surprised to see something like that again.
- On defense, I love taking value and paying down, so I’m in on the Cleveland Browns Defense against the Miami Dolphins. Otherwise, feel free to pay down to whatever you need to fit your skill positions.
Good luck everyone with your Week 8 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 9 Cash Lineup suggestions!
