Without further to do, here we go:
Week 1 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Over the last 4 seasons, I’ve averaged a 65% win percentage, which means that’s now eleven years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. Last year, I also was 95% on my Lock of the Week (20-1) and 50% on my Upset of the Week (10-10). But that was the past, and this is now, and I’m shooting for twelve years in a row for my picks and Locks!
Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 1…
Lock of the Week ➡ Jacksonville Jaguars (-8.5) over Cleveland Browns
The first week is always a crap shoot, but the Jaguars are essentially the same team with a slightly upgraded receiving core and the Browns are being helmed by Deshaun Watson minus Myles Garrett. Call it a hunch, but the Jaguars have been trending up and I expect that to continue against the new look Browns.
Upset of the Week ➡ Green Bay Packers (+1.5) over Minnesota Vikings
I’m sure that Kylar Murray will be an improvement for the Vikings and the Vikings defense is no joke. But the Packers also made moves to shore up there defense in the offseason through free agency and the draft and Jordan Love should continue to improve with Christian Watson extended. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the upset.

Scott King’s Picks
Scott’s Thoughts:
Week 1 picks are in. We made it. Now I just need to stay above .500 and see what happens. We’re going to be surprised at some point this week.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
New England at Seattle: A lot of people will bank on the Patriots wanting revenge but a lot of the reasons the Seahawks dominated the Patriots in the Super Bowl haven’t changed. And historically it’s the Super Bowl loser that suffers a hangover. That was the Patriots and that hangover starts in Seattle.
Tampa Bay at Cincinnati: Expect a lot of offense and this game will come down to which team can get a few stops to win. And I think the Bucs will do that by forcing 2 turnovers to spring a slight upset on the road.
Chicago at Carolina: The Bears are sneaking up on no one this year and I believe they will be one of the big disappointments and the Panthers are getting no credit for winning a bad division and then coming within a cat’s whisker of upsetting the Rams. Bryce Young is continuing to improve and Carolina will show that they are better than what most people think.
Others: Atlanta beating Pittsburgh makes no sense but there’s usually at least 1 result like that in the opening week and the Falcons is the one I picked. Tennessee is so bad that I am taking the Jets on the road. Yes, that’s ridiculous but so were the Titans picking Carnell Tate in round 1. And Buffalo shouldn’t be an underdog against Houston even on the road. Buffalo rolls.
Eliminator picks: Jacksonville over Cleveland. Also considered the Chargers, Raiders and Eagles.
