Week 4 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
After a 64.7% record four seasons ago, and 63.3% (178-103) three seasons ago and 63.4% (180-104) two seasons ago, I ended up at a whopping 68.8% last season, my best season yet. So that’s ten years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. I also had 84% right for Locks of the Week (16-3) and 44.4% for Upsets of the Week (8-10), so not only did I meat my 2023 percentages for both Locks and Upsets, but I have ten years in a row of Locks being over 70%. But that was the past, and this is now, and I’m shooting for eleven in a row for both!
Last week I went 11-5, leaving me 35-13 for the season (72.9%), hitting my Lock (3-0) and missing my Upset (1-2). Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 4…
Lock of the Week ➡ Buffalo Bills (-16.5) over New Orleans Saints
Sometimes in life you take the hard way and some times you take the easy way. I’ve decided to take the easy way this week. The Bills looks fantastic and Josh Allen just keeps pushing to repeat at MVP. The Bills are 3-0 and have outscored their opponents by a total of 102 to 71. The Saints are 0-3 and just got trounced 44 to 13 by the middling Seahawks. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell you that the team with the most yards (420.0) and 4th most points (34.0) per game this season will beat the team that’s allowed the 8th most points per game (30.0), particularly in conjunction with scoring the 4th least points per game (15.7) this season. Yeah, it’s just stats, but sometimes that’s all you need. Lock it in.
Upset of the Week ➡ New York Jets (+2.5) over Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins did just come off an impressive Thursday Night game hanging in there with the Bills and the Jets also came of an impressive performance hanging with the Buccaneers. But both teams are still 0-3 and unlikely to sniff the playoffs this season. For the Jets, it was mostly expected, but the Dolphins have fallen far under expectations. Both defenses have been bad, with the Dolphins allowing the most points per game this season (32.3) and the Jets allowed the 4th most (31.0). And the offense is only marginally different, but keep in mind that the Jets have scored almost a TD more per game than the Dolphins, even without their starting QB in Week 3. The Dolphins are slightly favored because they’re at home, but I wouldn’t be surprised by the upset.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
Philadelphia at Tampa Bay: Before each team’s respective 4th quarter last week I would’ve confidently predicted a Bucs win. Then the Eagles won in scarcely believable fashion over the Rams while Tampa blew a 17-point lead to the Jets before rallying with a late field goal. Both teams have relied on good fortune to get to 3-0. I will take the Bucs despite the injuries on the line and at wide receiver because the Eagles can’t get away with their sub-par performances forever.
Indianapolis at L.A. Rams: Speaking of the Rams they smoked Philadelphia for 2 1/2 quarters before throwing the game away. And while the Colts have surprised everyone, I continue to believe this Daniel Jones renaissance will run into a brick wall. And that brick wall is the L.A. front four. Take the Rams.
Baltimore at Kansas City: I am writing off the loser of this game. The Chiefs won against the Giants but that was more because Russell Wilson was bad. The Ravens losses are terrible, but they’ve looked a lot better than the Chiefs. If Baltimore can’t beat them then their season is cooked despite how terrible the NFC North is. Take Baltimore
Eliminator pick: Buffalo
