“Pick ‘Em or Kick ‘Em”™: FGT VS. Urban Sports Scene 2023 Week 10 NFL Picks

By the Football Garbage Time Staff

If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.

And if you’ve been following us, you know that we here at Football Garbage Time have gone head-to-head against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks for the last 6 seasons.  Why?  Because they’re awesome competitors, they KNOW their sports, and, heck, they’re just good guys!  This year we’ll have their picks up right HERE, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.

Without further to do, here we go:

Week 10 Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

After a 64.7% record two seasons ago, I ended last season 63.3% (178-103).  So that’s eight years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  I also ended up 16-4 for Locks of Week (80%) and 8-12 for Upsets of the Week (40%) which is also eight years in a row of Locks being over 70%.  I was 9-5 in Week 9 and am now 85-51 (62.5%) overall for the season.  I hit my Lock of the Week (Saints) but missed my Upset of the Week (Bills), meaning I’m 66.7% for Locks and 44.4% for Upsets so far.  But there are plenty of weeks to go!

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 10…

Lock of the Week Dallas Cowboys (-16.5) over New York Giants

No Daniel Jones means that undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito will get the start for the Giants against a Cowboys defense that allowed the 3rd least yards per game (288.0) and almost managed to contain the Eagles in Philadelphia in Week 9. The Cowboys will be looking to bounce back big after a disappointing close loss against the Eagles and the poor undermanned Giants are unfortunately on tap.  Don’t overthink it.  Lock it in.

Upset of the Week Los Angeles Chargers (+2.5) over Detroit Lions

The Chargers are better than their record and won two in a row to get to 4-4.  The Lions are the team closest to challenging the Eagles in the NFC and are healthy off a bye, and did handle business against the Raiders prior to that, but got embarrassed by the Ravens the week before.  The Chargers have momentum and I like the potential for an upset here.

Joanne Kong’s Picks

Scott King’s Picks

Scott’s Thoughts:

Solid week last week with all home teams. I wasn’t able to watch any games last week so I’m a bit blind on a few teams. Hope to get back on track this week.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

Let’s start with what Josh Dobbs did is remarkable but he’s a literal rocket scientist (or going to be) and is by some distance one of the smartest people to ever play football. Also the Falcons defense is terrible and Arthur Smith is an imbecile. This week Dobbs faces a much better defense and coach in Dennis Allen’s Saints. New Orleans wins at Minnesota.

Is the recovery on for Jordan Love and Green Bay or was that a product of playing a Rams team plagued by injuries (and no Stafford). Probably both but I think the Packers renaissance continues with a win at usually punchless Pittsburgh.

Guess who’s back! Kyler Murray! Guess who he is starting against. Those same Falcons I mentioned above. Arizona wins!

San Francisco ends there losing streak in Jacksonville. The good feelings in Vegas now that Josh McDaniels is gone will continue by beating the Jets. And yes the Commanders will upset Seattle on the road.
