As I do every year over the last 11 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you’re in your fantasy football playoffs, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 6 of the 2023 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Chuba Hubbard

RB – Carolina Panthers – 59% Owned

Miles Sanders hasn’t been good this season.  And when he was out in Week 6 with a shoulder injury, in stepped Chuba Hubbard to rush 19 times for 88 yards and a TD.  Regardless of when Sanders comes back, Hubbard looked dynamic and has likely cemented additional touches after the bye.  He’s worth a stash in all 12-team leagues or deeper.

Keontay Ingram

RB – Arizona Cardinals – 20% Owned

Emari Demercado was the hot pick up after John Connor went out due to his breakout Week 5 performance.  But Keaontay Ingram came back from injury and got the start, rushing 10 times for 40 yards, also catching to passes for 11 receiving yards.  It’s not eye popping, but he did lead touches among RBs Demercado and Damien Williams.  Don’t blow the bank, but he’s worth a speculative pickup in 14-team leagues desperate for RB help, including Connor owners.

Jordan Mason

RB – San Francisco 49ers – 5% Owned

Uh oh, Christian McCaffrey is out for the time being with an oblique injury.  Jordan Mason isn’t CMC, but he did take over to rush 5 times for 27 yards and a TD.  Elijah Mitchell returned from a two-game absence due to a knee injury but had minus-3 yards on 2 carries.  All CMC owners should rush to the waiver wire to pick up Mason, and anyone else who’d like to speculate in 12-team leagues or deeper should also take a look.

Rashee Rice

WR – Kansas City Chiefs – 45% Owned

We have no idea who Patrick Mahomes will favor from week-to-week outside of Travis Kelce, but it does look like Rashee Rice has been getting his attention.  Rice caught all 4 targets for 72 yards in Week 6.  Rice has had at least 3 receptions in all but one game and has 2 TDs so far.  The floor and ceiling appear to be rising for Rice, so go ahead and pick him up in all 12-team leagues or deeper.

Josh Downs

WR – Indianapolis Colts – 33% Owned

Josh Downs seems to be the clear WR2 in Indy, particularly with Gardner Minshew, catching 5 of 8 targets for 21 yards and a TD in Week 6.  Downs has quietly averaged 4.7 receptions on 6.8 targets for 46 yards per game this season, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that start to climb.  Take a look in all 14-team leagues or deeper.

Rashid Shaheed

WR – New Orleans Saints – 32% Owned

Rashid Shaheed has tons of speed, but his production has been relatively boom or bust this season.  Week 6 was a boom as he caught 2 of 6 targets for 85 yards and a TD, adding 18 rush yards.  He won’t be consistent, but he’s worth rostering in 14-team leagues or deeper to give you some cover during bye weeks.

Michael Mayer

TE – Las Vegas Raiders – 5% Owned

Michael Mayer wasn’t drafted in the second round of the draft by the Raiders to sit on the sideline.  But that’s essentially what he did for the first 4 weeks of the season with only 1 catch from just 2 targets.  But in Week 5 he caught 2 of 3 targets for 39 yards and in Week 6 he caught 5 of 6 targets for 75 yards.  It’s clear the Raiders are better with Mayer involved with the offense, so I’d expect this trend to continue.  Mayer is worth picking up in all 14-team leagues or deeper.
