In 2022, we were over 70% for cash lineups again and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 6 of the 2023 season!

You’re welcome.

As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

And as we did last year, we’re also adding our top two player prop picks to help you win even MORE money!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 6 of the 2023 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome.

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 6 contests, along with they’re prices.

Game Notes:

  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • My approach to DFS in Week 6 is to either pair a top end QB with value at RB and WR or a value QB with a top end RB and WR and fill up the remainder with value.  I’m paying down this week at TE, particularly with no Kelce in the player pool.
  • The “Free Square of the Week”™ is D’Onta Foreman.  Sure, he has essentially no stats up to this point, but every other RB with the Chicago Bears is injured and out this week.  The Bears have the 9th most rush yards per game (130.8) so Foreman should have plenty of opportunity against the Vikings this week.
  • The Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Rams game has the highest over/under of the weekend (48.5) and a spread of 7, so I’m in on most of the skill players here.  For the Rams, I’m all over Cooper Kupp, Puca Nacua and Kyren Williams, in that order.  For the Cardinals, I’m a little less excited, but do like the value that Emari Demercado has (and maybe Keontay Ingram) since John Conner is on IR.
  • The Carolina Panthers @ Miami Dolphins game has the second highest over/under of the weekend (47.5), so I’m in on most of the skill players here as well.  For the Dolphins, I’m in on Tua Tagovailoa, Raheem Moster and Tyreek Hill, in that order.  Mostert in particular is a strong play with breakout rookie De’Von Achane going on IR and the Panthers allowing the second most fantasy points to opposing RBs this season.  For the Panthers, I’m OK playing Adam Thielen and Terrace Marshall Jr., but I feel like they’re more like punt plays this week, so I’d prefer to stick with the Dolphins.
  • Christian McCaffrey has had the 4th most rushing yards (102) and 2nd most rushing TDs (1.4) on the 3rd most carries (19.8) and the 4th most receiving yards (33.6) per game of any RB in the NFL this season.  He had a “down” week against the Cowboys top ranked run defense last week and still managed 78 scrimmage yards and a TD.  In other words, he’s matchup proof.  He’s had a rushing TD in every game this season and now gets to fact the Browns who have allowed the 28th most rushing yards this season.  If you can afford him, add him.
  • Justin Fields was a huge letdown over the first 3 games of the season but has been lighting it up over the air (of all places) exceeding 280 passing yards and having 4 passing TDs in back-to-back weeks.  And his partner in crime has been DJ Moore, who’s had over 400 yards and 5 TDs in the last 3 weeks.  That’s the second most TDs Moore has had in an entire season throughout his career in just 6 games.  I don’t think any of this stops against the Vikings this week.
  • Alvin Kamara jumped right back into his lead back role after returning from his suspension, and his price hasn’t come up much.  He’s had 25 touches in back-to-back weeks and he gets to face the Texans’ 17th ranked run defense.
  • Gardner Minshew is starting for the Colts this week against the Jaguars 27th ranked pass defense.  He’s been good in relief so far and is near minimum price across industry.  And his top target will Michael Pittman Jr., so feel free to sprinkle both in.
  • Logan Thomas is my favorite TE play of the week based in part on value and in part on opportunity.  Last week, Thomas paced all TEs with 11 targets and he gets to face an Atlanta defense this week that has allowed the 2nd most fantasy points to TEs this season.
  • On defense, I love taking value and paying down, and one of the better defenses in the NFL, the New England Patriots, is priced down across industry and gets to face a Raiders offense that’s ranked just 29th overall.

Good luck everyone with your Week 6 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 7 Cash Lineup suggestions!
