As I do every year over the last 10 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you’re in your fantasy football playoffs, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 4 of the 2022 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Zach Wilson

QB – New York Jets – 10% Owned

The New York Jets are not a good team, but they certainly looked more dynamic with Zach Wilson returning from injury this week.  Wilson completed 19 of 37 passes for 257 yards, a TD, and two interceptions, adding a receiving TD on a trick play from Braxton Berrios. It wasn’t pretty, but when it came down to it, he led the Jets on a game-winning drive in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. If you’re looking for a backup QB in 14-team leagues or deeper, or in any two QB leagues, you could do a lot worse.

Zach Wilson 2021 Passing Stats
Year Tm G Cmp Att Yds TD Int
2021 NYJ 13 213 383 2334 9 11
Care 13 213 383 2334 9 11
Tyler Allgeier

RB – Atlanta Falcons – 16% Owned

Cordarrelle Patterson came into the game questionable with a knee injury, but still managed 9 carries for 38 yards and a TD.  And although both Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley got 10 carries a piece, I’m favoring picking up Allgeier with his 11 touches for 104 yards from scrimmage over Huntley’s 10 touches for 56 yards, even though Huntley got the TD.  We were all excited about Allgeier in the preseason and thought he’d have the backup role to himself, but his carries have been steady week over week regardless of Patterson’s status (10, 6 and 10).  You probably don’t want to use him right away, but he’s a decent stash in 14-team leagues or deeper.

UPDATE: Cordarrelle Patterson now on IR, so pick up both Allgeier and Huntley in all leagues.

Mike Boone

RB – Denver Broncos – 2% Owned

With Javonte Williams done for the season due to an ACL tear, it’s probably going to be the Melvin Gordon show.  That being said, Gordon had his 4th fumble of the season in as many weeks as well as getting dinged up for a good portion of the Week 4 game.  Mike Boone rushed three times for 20 yards and caught 1 of 3 targets for 9 receiving yards. If you need RB help, or was a Williams owner, it probably behooves you to scoop up Boone in all 12-team leagues or deeper.

Corey Davis

WR – New York Jets – 24% Owned

For once, the New York Jets receiving core is full of talent, with Elijah Moore, Garrett Wilson and Corey Davis.  But it was Davis that showed a connection with newly returned Zach Wilson as he piled on 5 catches on 7 targets for 74 yards and a TD.  No one else on the team picked up more than two receptions. Who knows if this continues, but the arrow is pointing up for Davis, so feel free to pick him up in 14-team leagues and deeper.

Josh Reynolds

WR – Detroit Lions – 20% Owned

The Detroit Lions are fantasy gold right now as they are averaging a ridiculous 35 points per game over the first four weeks of the season.  Part of it is due to their lack of defense, but it all counts the same in fantasy football.  So I’m looking for whoever I can snag now from the team looks to be getting work, and Josh Reynolds may be that guy.  In Week 2, Reynolds caught all 3 targets for 38 yards and TD.  In Week 3, Reynolds caught 6 passes for 96 yards.  And in Week 4, Reynolds caught 7 of 8 targets for 81 yards and a TD.  Apparently, Jared Goff remembers Reynolds fondly from their time together on the Rams, as his targets have been growing steadily week to week.  Sure, Amon-Ra St. Brown was out the game this week, but it looks like Reynolds may become a bona fide third option behind St. Brown and TJ Hockenson sooner than later.  If St Brown is out again, Reynolds could be slotted in as WR2, but even when St. Brown is back I think Reynolds can be deployed as a WR3/Flex in most 12-team leagues or deeper.

Will Dissly

TE – Seattle Seahawks – 3% Owned

Clearly, the TE landscape is a waste land this year outside of Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews, and even they have their off days.  So I don’t blame you if you desperately looking for a viable TE on the waiver wire.  Will Dissly isn’t some one I want to rely on, but you can’t deny that he’s getting it done more often than not.  He did again in Week 4 catching all 4 targets for 39 yards and a TD, making that a TD in 3 of 4 games this season.  He’s caught all 12 of his targets so far this season for 116 total yards and 3 TDs.  Whether he’ll do it again is anyone’s guess, but you could do worse if you’re desperate in 16-team leagues or deeper.
