“Pick ‘Em or Kick ‘Em”™: FGT VS. Urban Sports Scene 2022 Week 4 NFL Picks

By the Football Garbage Time Staff

If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.

And if you’ve been following us, you know that we here at Football Garbage Time have gone head to head against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks for the last 5 seasons.  Why?  Because they’re awesome competitors, they KNOW their sports, and, heck, they’re just good guys!  This year we’ll have their picks up right HERE, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.

Without further to do, here we go:

Week 4 Games

Ha Kung’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

Last year I ended up with a 64.7% record for the season, so that’s seven years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  Plus, I had a 75.5% record on Locks of the Week and a 58% record on Upsets of the Week.  I’m still off to a solid start going 9-7 in Week 3 for a total of total of 30-17 for the season (63.8%), 2-1 for Locks of Week, and 2-1 for Upsets of the Week.  Don’t worry, I don’t plan on stopping now!

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 4…

Lock of the Week Green Bay Packers (-10.0) over New England Patriots

The Packers managed to get by the undermanned Buccaneers last weekend and get to face the undermanned Patriots in Week 4.  With Mac Jones sidelined and Brian Hoyer under center, I have near 0 confidence that the Pats can pull off the upset.  The Packers defense has looked better recently, and the emergence of Romeo Daubs threatens to give Aaron Rodgers another super star WR target.  Don’t overthink it.  Lock it in.

Upset of the Week Arizona Cardinals (+1.0) over Carolina Panthers

I know the Cardinals haven’t lived up the preseason expectations, but they’re not a bad team.  The Cardinal lost to the Kansas City Chiefs and and the current World Champion Los Angeles Rams, so its not necessarily a bad start to the season.  The defense is improving and I still have faith in Kylar Murray, Marquis Brown and James Conner.  The Panthers on the other hand are lost.  I have no idea what they’re trying to be, Baker Mayfield looks less than advertised and Christian McCaffrey is injured again.  Who knows if he can handle a full load, or even play on Sunday.  If I have to pick, I’m going with the Cardinals for the upset in this one.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

Starting off hot with the Bengals knocking over the Dolphins Thursday night. I still think Philadelphia will be unbeaten after this weekend but Jacksonville covers.

Minnesota at New Orleans: why in the world with a beatup Jameis Winston would I take the Saints over the Vikings. First, I think the Saints might turn to a healthy Andy Dalton. Second, Kirk Cousins will turn the ball over against that New Orleans defense and leave them with a series of shortfalls.

Chicago at N.Y. Giants: It’s a terrible game but in a battle of 2-1 teams that don’t look anywhere near contending, the Giants will beat the Bears because there defense will turn over Justin Fields (who has almost no help) a lot.

Buffalo at Baltimore: Hard to believe that 1 of these teams will be 2-2. And in the end the Bills did everything but win in Miami last week and there defense is a lot better than Baltimore’s. Bills make just a few more stops to win.

Eliminator pick: If you haven’t used them already pick Green Bay. That Packers defense vs. Brian Hoyer. Easy!
