Without further to do, here we go:

Week 16 Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

Last year I ended up with a 68.1% record for the season, so that’s six years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  Currently, I’m at a solid 140-83 (62.8%) on the year.  Last year, I had an 87.5% record on Locks of the Week and a 50% record on Upsets of the Week.  So far I’m 66.7% (10-5) on my Locks and 53.3% (8-7) on my Upsets this year, so we’re still on track.

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 16…

Lock of the Week Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-10.5) over Carolina Panthers

Well, Tom Brady was embarrassed on national TV in primetime getting shutout against the New Orleans Saints.  And he’s taken tons of heat about that (and his colorful metaphor directed to the Saints sidelines), so you can bet that he’s rearing to go against the Panthers this week.  And remember that Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Leonard Fournette all left mid-game in Week 15, with Antonio Brown still on the shelf on suspension.  It looks like Brown will return this week as will a healthy Gronkowski, and Brady should get a week of practice with all those backup targets, including with Ronald Jones who was the only bright spot for the Bucs in Week 15. The Panthers have been on a massive slide, going 2-9 after their 3-0 start so long ago. I’m sure no Christian McCaffrey is a big part of that, but the Panthers are in the midst of a lost season where they’re still trying to determine if they want to start a beyond-expiration Cam Newton or Sam Darnold under center.  Lock in the Bucs for the bounce back.

Upset of the Week Miami Dolphins (+3.0) over New Orleans Saints

Listen, I’m not saying the Dolphins are any good.  But they are on a 6-game win streak and seemed to have found reinforcements for their ailing backfield with Duke Johnson’s career best performance in Week 15.  Plus, the Dolphins should be getting back Tua’s favorite target, Jaylen Waddle, this week.  More importantly, Taysom Hill is going on the COVID list meaning rookie Ian Book will be under center for the Saints this weekend.  Being a Notre Dame fan, I’ve watched a lot of Book in college, and I do think he can be a decent game manager.  But I don’t have a ton of confidence with him getting his first start ever against a Dolphins defense that quietly have held opposing QBs to the 7th lowest average passer rating (85.4) of any defense this season.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Dolphins pull the upset in what very well may be a trap game for the Saints after their huge win against the Bucs in Week 15.

Scott King’s Picks

Scott’s Thoughts:

Only took to week 24, but I think I might kinda know which teams are better than others. Or I’ll go 3-13 this week. The good news is that both conferences are really tight for every spot so teams will continue to fight. This will be huge for fantasy also.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

Not much to say about a lot of these games this week because plenty of them are functionally meaningless in the playoff race and are wildly unpredictable. But I will make 2 bold statements.

Provided Taylor Heinicke or Kyle Allen get through the COVID19 protocol will shock Dallas by getting back to the formula that won them 4 games in a row. Controlling the clock by running the football (hopefully that idgit Scott Turner will remember those 4 weeks).

Secondly Miami will go to the Superdome and beat the make-a-wish QB and the Saints to help Washington’s playoff hopes big time.
