“Pick ‘Em or Kick ‘Em”™: FGT VS. Urban Sports Scene 2021 Week 15 NFL Picks

By the Football Garbage Time Staff

If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.

And if you’ve been following us, you know that we here at Football Garbage Time have gone head to head against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks for the last 7 seasons.  Why?  Because they’re awesome competitors, they KNOW their sports, and, heck, they’re just good guys!  This year we’ll have their picks up right HERE, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.

Without further to do, here we go:

Week 15 Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

Last year I ended up with a 68.1% record for the season, so that’s six years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  I got back on track with 15 of 16 in Week 6 and building to a decent 127-80 (61.4%) on the year.  Last year, I had an 87.5% record on Locks of the Week and a 50% record on Upsets of the Week.  So far I’m 71.4% (10-4) on my Locks and 50% (7-7) on my Upsets this year, so we’re still on track.  Don’t worry, I don’t plan on stopping now!

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 15…

Lock of the Week Arizona Cardinals (-13.5) over Detroit Lions

The Cardinals were almost at full health, but then DeAndre Hopkins had to go get surgery and is now out for the season.  Didn’t seem to matter last week as AJ Green had a resurgence. The Lions, on the other hand, have one win on the season and are better off chasing the top draft pick than another win this season.  It seems obvious, but lock in the Cardinals.

Upset of the Week Las Vegas Raiders (+3.0) over Cleveland Browns

As of now, the Browns have 21 players on the COVID list and are down to Nick Mullens as their starting QB.  The Raiders aren’t good, but they at least have most of their starters, minus Darren Waller.  Call it a gut call, but I think the Raiders have enough healthy starters to “out-play” the Browns this weekend for the upset.

Joanne Kong’s Picks

Scott King’s Picks

Scott’s Thoughts:

Only took to week 24, but I think I might kinda know which teams are better than others. Or I’ll go 3-13 this week. The good news is that both conferences are really tight for every spot so teams will continue to fight. This will be huge for fantasy also.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

I swear this is the week the Patriots finally get beat. And even though the Colts have blown games like this during the season (at Bal, home to Tampa) this time they finally come through against a real contender.

And then there’s COVID stricken Washington who looked awful for most of the game vs. Dallas. Not even sure who is starting for Philadelphia but don’t care at this point.
Before Jacksonville fired Urban Meyer Thursday night I was very confident in Houston sweeping the Jags. I am less so now but will still pick the Texans.

Yes Cincinnati stunk it up for most of the game against San Francisco but does that mean that Denver and there often sputtering offense should be favored? Not for me.

And I will wind the week up with another favorite play of mind. Going against Kirk Cousins in primetime. And this time the Bears can drive a stake through the heart of Minnesota’s season (and likely the tenures of the front office, coaching staff and Cousins).
