Without further to do, here we go:

Week 17 Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

After a 64.7% record four seasons ago, and 63.3% (178-103) three seasons ago and 63.4% (180-104) two seasons ago, I ended up at a whopping 68.8% last season, my best season yet.  So that’s ten years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  I also had 84% right for Locks of the Week (16-3) and 44.4% for Upsets of the Week (8-10), so not only did I meet my 2023 percentages for both Locks and Upsets, but I have ten years in a row of Locks being over 70%.  But that was the past, and this is now, and I’m shooting for eleven in a row for both!

Had an OK week going 9-7, leaving me 155-84 for the season (64.9%), hitting my Lock (15-1) and my Upset (8-8).  Let’s move on to my Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 17…

Lock of the Week Los Angeles Rams (-8.0) over Arizona Cardinals

The Rams have one of the better defenses in the league.  They’ve allowed the 6th least points (19.9) per game to opposing offenses this season and there’s no reason that won’t continue against the struggling Cardinals.  The Rams also have the 4th most takeaways (24) and the 6th most sacks (41) in the league.  The Rams need this one to stay in contention for the top spot in the NFC after losing to the Seahawks on OT last week, so I expect them to be all systems go.  It’s not like the Cardinals are terrible, but their defense has been giving up loads of points (27.6 per game), much more than their offense can make up for, even with the weekly Jacoby Brissett heroics.  Lock in the Rams.

Upset of the Week New York Giants (+1.5) over Las Vegas Raiders

I almost don’t care who they play, as the Raiders are a steaming dumpster fire full of garbage on a 9-game losing streak, scoring the least points per game (14.5) in the NFL.  And now their best player, Brock Bowers, is on IR.  It’s not like the Giants are any good, but their defense has shown signs of life and Jaxson Dart is much better than he showed last week coming back from injury.  I wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants upset the Raiders.

Looks will play practically meaningless football for the first time in a few years. Hard to say who’s going to show up. Let’s go.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

A Merry Christmas to everyone out there although it won’t be very merry for any of the home teams on Christmas Day, I am going all road teams there.

Saturday: The Packers will put an end to both the Lions and Ravens hopes by winning and the Texans keep the heat on the Jaguars by overturning the Chargers in a low scoring affair

Sunday: Tampa Bay dispatches Miami and ties for the NFC South lead after Seattle keeps its mitts on the top seed in the NFC by defeating Carolina

The Bills and 49ers will also win to keep their division title hopes alive and make next weekend even more dramatic.
