As I do every year over the last 13 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you’re in your fantasy football playoffs, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 12 of the 2025 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Jameis Winston

QB – New York Giants – 4% Owned

It’s been said many times that there’s no player that keeps both teams in the game more than Jameis Winston.  But for fantasy, we don’t care about the turnovers as long as we have the yards and TDs and Winston does that in spades.  He was great in his first start in Week 11 but even better in Week 12 completing 18 of 36 passes for 366 yards, 2 TDs and an INT, adding 4 carries for 13 yards and even catching a 33-yard TD.  Yes, it was a spectacular fantasy day for Winston, regardless of the fact that the Giants blew a lead to lose to the Lions in OT.  Jaxson Dart is likely to take over once he gets back once he clears the concussion protocol, but if you need a QB2 or just have an underperforming QB in 14-team leagues or any two QB league, Winston is worth playing so long as he’s starting.

Davis Mills

QB – Houston Texans – 5% Owned

Interestingly, David Mills has one every start he’s had so far, which is far better than incumbent starter C.J. Stroud.  And Week 12 was a big one as he beat the Bills while completing 16 of 30 passes for 153 yards with 2 TDs and no INTs.  Stroud undoubtedly will start when he clears the concussion protocol, but Mills is also an interesting backup in 14-team leagues and playable in any two QB league in the meantime.

Tyrod Taylor

QB – New York Jets – 3% Owned

Tyrod Taylor had his second start now taking over for Justin Fields and did well completing 17 of 28 pass attempts for 222 yards, a TD and an INT, also rushing 5 times for 19 yards.  It doesn’t blow the doors off, but he likely did well enough to hold on to the starting position, which gives him value in all 14-team leagues or deeper and any two QB league.

Devin Neal

RB – New Orleans Saints – 3% Owned

With Alvin Kamara out with a knee injury and Kendre Miller already out for the season with an ACL injury, rookie Devin Neal may be the last man standing for the Saints.  Neal had 18 yards on 7 carries in Week 12 but did add 5 catches for 43 receiving yards.  Kamara may still make it back for Week 13, but if he doesn’t Neal may be a great stash in all 14-team leagues or deeper.

Andrei Iosivas

WR – Cincinnati Bengals – 20% Owned

Andrei Iosivas was a big waiver add for Week 12 because Ja’Marr Chase was suspended, and was fine catching 4 targets for 61 yards.  But he may remain a good pickup into Week 13 since Tee Higgins went out with a concussion and the Bengals play on Thanksgiving, making it really tough for Higgins to clear on time.  Plus, Joe Burrow might be back.  Iosivas is worth your consideration in 14-team leagues or deeper if you need a WR3/Flex for Week 13.

John Metchie III

WR – New York Jets – 1% Owned

With Garrett Wilson on IR with a knee injury until at least Week 15, John Metchie III did well catching 6 of 7 targets for 65 yards and a TD.  Metchie was already trending in the right direction catching 3 of 3 targets for 45 yards and TD in Week 11, so this is great to see with regard to his usage moving forward.  Feel free to grab in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
John Metchie Receiving Stats

Season Team G Tgt Rec Yds TD
2023 HOU 16 30 16 158 0
2024 HOU 13 37 24 254 1
2025 2TM 9 8 8 66 1
2025 PHI 7 4 4 18 0
2025 NYJ 2 4 4 48 1

HOU HOU 29 67 40 412 1
PHI PHI 7 4 4 18 0
NYJ NYJ 2 4 4 48 1

Gunnar Helm

TE – Tennessee Titans – 0% Owned

Tight end hasn’t been deep, so it’s worth nothing that Gunnar Helm caught 4 of 5 targets for 29 yards in Week 11 and followed that up with catching 6 of 7 targets for 51 yards in Week 12.  He’s trending in the right direction on a team that doesn’t have a lot of weapons.  I like the opportunity, so if you need a TE in 14-team leagues or deeper, go ahead and take a flyer.
