Week 13 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
After a 64.7% record four seasons ago, and 63.3% (178-103) three seasons ago and 63.4% (180-104) two seasons ago, I ended up at a whopping 68.8% last season, my best season yet. So that’s ten years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. I also had 84% right for Locks of the Week (16-3) and 44.4% for Upsets of the Week (8-10), so not only did I meet my 2023 percentages for both Locks and Upsets, but I have ten years in a row of Locks being over 70%. But that was the past, and this is now, and I’m shooting for eleven in a row for both!
Had a decent week going 10-4, leaving me 118-59 for the season (66.2%), hitting my Lock (11-1) and my Upset (5-7). Let’s move on to my Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 13…
Lock of the Week ➡ Los Angeles Chargers (-10.0) over Las Vegas Raiders
The Chargers offense has been struggling of late, but they’re healthy now coming off a bye and in need of a win. And regardless, the Chargers defense has been lights-out allowing the 5th least yards (286.1) and 10th least points (21.6) per game in the NFL. The Raiders on the other hand are a total dumpster fire that can’t get out of their own way. Not only have they scored the least points per game (15) of any team in the NFL, but they also have the 3rd least yards per game (268.9) of any team in the NFL. Lock in the Chargers.
Upset of the Week ➡ Chicago Bears (+7.0) over Philadelphia Eagles
This is another one of those gut calls, because on paper it doesn’t look great. But the Bears have had the most takeaways in the NFL this season (24) by a good margin. And the Eagles are coming off an inexplicable loss to the Cowboys after wins against the Lions and Packers that totaled just 26 offensive points. Extra possessions win games, and the Eagles don’t look in sync right now, so I wouldn’t be surprised by the upset.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
What a mess my picks were after 1 p.m. Sunday. Maybe Thanksgiving will go well.
Green Bay at Detroit: I think a lot of people will assume that Detroit will win to avenge the earlier defeat to the Packers. The problem with that is that the Packers were able to contain Jahmyr Gibbs last time and the Lions can’t win if he doesn’t go wild. And Detroit’s got a bad habit of playing poorly at home (lost to the Vikings, nearly lost to the Giants). Take Green Bay
Cincinnati at Baltimore: Joe Burrow is back and the Bengals will be pretty competitive with him plus the Ravens are winning but they aren’t playing well. They keep making mistakes and getting away with it. But that won’t happen against a turbo-charged Cincinnati offense. Take the Bengals
Houston at Indianapolis: The Texans defense is on fire and the Chiefs just showed you that no Jonathan Taylor = no Colts. This is the first of 2 huge machups in the NFC South in 3 weeks and it’s going to go to Houston.
Eliminator picks:
- Kansas City (if you have to pick one for Thursday/Black Friday as well as Sunday)
- Miami
- Jacksonville
