Week 8 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
After a 64.7% record four seasons ago, and 63.3% (178-103) three seasons ago and 63.4% (180-104) two seasons ago, I ended up at a whopping 68.8% last season, my best season yet. So that’s ten years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. I also had 84% right for Locks of the Week (16-3) and 44.4% for Upsets of the Week (8-10), so not only did I meet my 2023 percentages for both Locks and Upsets, but I have ten years in a row of Locks being over 70%. But that was the past, and this is now, and I’m shooting for eleven in a row for both!
Had a decent week going 11-4, leaving me 71-36 for the season (66.4%), hitting my Lock (6-1) and my Upset (2-5). Let’s move on to my Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 8…
Lock of the Week ➡ Kansas City Chiefs (-10.5) over Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels is out this week, which means we get more of Marcus Mariota. The Chiefs are essentially at full strength after getting Rashee Rice back last week, and he didn’t miss a beat scoring two TDs. Sometimes you don’t need much analysis to figure it out. Lock it in.
Upset of the Week ➡ Pittsburgh Steelers (+3.0) over Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers said this wasn’t a revenge game, but come on, we all know it is. Rodgers hung 4 TDs on his former team, the Jets, in Week 1 and gets to face the Packers at home in Pittsburgh. He had a shootout with the Bengals last week and lost to Joe Flacco, so I bet he’s raring to go this week against the Pack. Not to mention the Packers barely got by the Cardinals last week. I wouldn’t be surprised by the upset.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
N.Y. Jets at Cincinnati: I will step out there. Tyrod Taylor was the right option for the Jets all along and they would have 2 or 3 wins if they had started with him all year. And people are getting way ahead of themselves with the ancient Joe Flacco at QB. Aaron Glenn finally gets a win.
Chicago at Baltimore: I don’t care if Lamar Jackson is coming back or not because the Ravens were stinking it up when Jackson was still playing. And the Bears have won 4 in a row and won in a variety of ways. The Chicago bandwagon continues to gather pace.
Dallas at Denver: I don’t care that the Broncos won, they just let a Giants team with no Malik Nabers score 32 points on them. What do you think the Cowboys offense with better weapons can do to the Denver defense. And Sean Payton sniping at Russell Wilson shows his lack of focus. Cowboys win.
Eliminator picks in order of ones I like best (in case you’ve already taken a few of them):
- Indianapolis Colts
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
