As I do every year over the last 13 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you’re in your fantasy football playoffs, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 2 of the 2025 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Mac Jones

QB – San Francisco 49ers – 3% Owned

With Brock Purdy out, Mac Jones started and completed 26 of 39 passes for 279 yards and 3 TDs, adding 6 rush yards on 6 carries.  Those 3 TDs are a career-high for Jones, and there’s no guarantees that this will happen with any consistency, but the opportunity is definitely there.  Purdy is set to miss multiple games with a toe and shoulder injury, so if you need a substitute QB in 14-team leagues or deeper, or any 2-QB leagues, you could do worse.

Spencer Rattler

QB – New Orleans Saints – 2% Owned

With all the injured QBs, it’s worth mentioning Spencer Rattler who looked competent in Week 2 completing 25 of 34 passes for 207 yards and 3 TDs, adding 14 rush yards on 4 carries.  That’s two starts without a turnover and a career high in passing TDs.  The Saint essentially have no one else and do have some solid skill players to build on, including Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Juwan Johnson.  Again, if you need a substitute QB in 14-team leagues or deeper, or any 2-QB leagues, he’s worth your consideration.

Jake Browning

QB – Cincinnati Bengals – 0% Owned

And the final substitute QB to consider is Jake Browning, who replaced an injured Joe Burrow tore toe ligaments in the first half and proceeded to completed 21 of 32 passes for 241 yards, 2 TDs and 3 INTs, also running in the game-winning TD.  There’s probably more risk here with Browning, but he’s throwing to Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, so there’s definitely some upside.  I’d prioritize the others, but he’s worth a stash in 14-team leagues as well.

Bhayshul Tuten

RB – Jacksonville Jaguars – 55% Owned

Here’s the Bhayshul Tuten we all wanted when he was drafted!  With Tank Bigsby out of town, Travis Etienne remained the starter, but Tuten had 8 carries for 42 yards and caught both targets for 32 yards and a TD, while also returning one kickoff for 26 yards in Week 2.  Interestingly, Etienne only got 14 carries, so Tuten was almost in a running back by committee.  The upside is there, and he’s worth a roster spot for that alone in all 12-team leagues or deeper.

Wan’Dale Robinson

WR – New York Giants – 22% Owned

Wan’Dale Robinson looks to be one of Russell Wilson‘s favorite targets.  After getting 8 targets in Week 1, Robinson managed to catch 8 of a whopping 10 targets for 142 yards and a TD in Week 2.  It’s pretty clear the Giants will be behind a lot this season, so Robinson is worth a stash as a WR3/4/Flex in 12-team leagues or deeper so long as Wilson remains behind center.

Elic Ayomanor

WR – Tennessee Titans – 8% Owned

Elic Ayomanor had a mostly empty Week 1 but did garner 7 targets.  Week 2 was better with him catching 4 of 6 targets for 56 yards and his first NFL TD.  There was a good connection in the preseason that led to some pre-draft hype, but now that he’s getting the same number of targets as Calvin Ridley, it’s fair to say he’s on the upswing.  If there’s a rookie-to-rookie connection brewing, it’s worth stashing Ayomanor as a WR4/Flex in 12-team leagues or deeper.

Troy Franklin

WR – Denver Broncos – 3% Owned

Well, this came out of nowhere.  After garnering 6 targets in Week 1, Troy Franklin busted out catching 8 of 9 targets for 89 yards and a TD, adding one carry for 11 yards, in Week 2.  It’s time to pay attention and pick him up as a WR4/Flex in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
