Waiver Favors™: 2024 Week 12 Fantasy Football Pickups

As I do every year over the last 12 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 12 of the 2024 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

And don’t forget that I have my previous recommended pickups this season at the end of the article, categorized by which leagues I would still pick them up in.

Last week, I made a number of suggestions for pickups, and many of those still stand if their available in your league, such as Jonnu Smith and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.  Here are the new waiver wire suggestions:

Caleb Williams

QB – Chicago Bears – 54% Owned

The Bears haven’t been good but the Caleb Williams has improved since the Bears fired OC Shane Waldron.  Williams is averaging 7.3 yards per attempt in two games since then and in Week 12 completed 32 of 47 passes for 340 yards, 2 TDs and no interceptions adding 6 carries for 33 yards. He’s averaging 34 pass attempts and 31 rushing yards per game this season, and is trending up so he’s worth putting on your radar in 12-team leagues or deeper.

Roschon Johnson

RB – Chicago Bears – 28% Owned

Roschon Johnson isn’t being used much, but he should be.  He’s rushed for a TD twice in two weeks and is solid downfield runner.  It won’t be consistent, but he had 10 carries in Week 11 and its possible he’ll get more run in short-yardage situations, particularly at the goal line. Feel free to speculate in 14-team leagues and deeper.

Ameer Abdullah

RB – Las Vegas Raiders – 25% Owned

With no Alexander Mattison or Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah led the way in Week 12 for the Las Vegas Raiders, rushing for 28 yards and catching 5 of 6 targets for 37 yards and a TD.  He’s a decent pass catching back and the Raiders face the Chiefs on Friday, so there’s some potential short term usage if Mattison and/or White are still out.

Keon Coleman

WR – Buffalo Bills – 43% Owned

The Bills are off this week, and Keon Coleman was out due to injury for 2 games before the bye, which led to his ownership percentage falling below 50%.  In his last 4 full games, Coleman averaged 3.25 receptions on 5.75 targets for 67.5 yards and 0.5 TDs.  That’s not shabby on a Bills team that’s on the rise coming out of the bye week.  Feel free to pick him up in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
