Super Wild Card Weekend Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

After a 64.7% record two seasons ago, I ended last season 63.3% (178-103).  So that’s eight years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  I also ended up 16-4 for Locks of Week (80%) and 8-12 for Upsets of the Week (40%) which is also eight years in a row of Locks being over 70%.  I was 11-5 in Week 18 making me 171-101 (62.9%) overall for the season.  I hit my Lock of the Week (Lions) and my Upset of the Week (Chiefs), meaning I’m 15-3 (83.3%) for Locks and 7-11 (38.9%) for Upsets so far.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

Week 18 was infuriating (thanks Arizona and Miami) but let’s have a great playoffs:
Cleveland at Houston: The toughest game to call in the playoffs. Cleveland has the better defense and probably better overall talent. But I still don’t believe in Joe Flacco and C.J. Stroud’s star is ascending.

Miami at Kansas City: Oh the cold, oh Patrick Mahomes. Oh the Dolphins injuries. Everyone and their brother is on the Chiefs. Well this is a classic chance to fade the public. Miami is much better suited to playing in inclement winter weather than previous editions because they can run the ball with Devon Achane. And outside of Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Isaiah Pacheco that Kansas City offense isn’t very good. Dolphins pull the upset.
Pittsburgh at Buffalo: A better team than the Steelers could take advantage of an emotionally spent Bills team that’s prone to playing down to its competition. Thankfully Pittsburgh isn’t that team and Buffalo will roll.

Green Bay at Dallas: Jordan Love will have to be as hot in this game as he’s been in the last month. The problem is that very few teams can keep up with the Cowboys in a shootout on their home track. Dallas wins convincingly.

L.A. Rams at Detroit: The battle of QBs that their former teams were happy to get rid of. But what will decide this game for me is the Rams using Kyren Williams better and more often than the Lions will use Jahmyr Gibbs. Rams by a field goal.

Philadelphia at Tampa Bay: The Eagles have been running on fumes for weeks. They are too injured and too beat up. They needed the week 14 bye that Washington got. And even if the Bucs played terribly the last 2 weeks. And even if Baker Mayfield is injured, I’d rather be Tampa Bay than Philadelphia right now. Bucs win.
