Without further to do, here we go:

Conference Championship Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

After a 64.7% record two seasons ago, I ended last season 63.3% (178-103).  So that’s eight years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  I also ended up 16-4 for Locks of Week (80%) and 8-12 for Upsets of the Week (40%) which is also eight years in a row of Locks being over 70%.  I was 3-1 in Divisional Playoffs making me 179-103 (63.7%) overall for the season.  I hit my Lock of the Week (49ers) meaning I’m 17-3 (85%) for Locks and 8-11 (42.1%) for Upsets this season, so it looks like we managed to beat our 2022 percentages for Locks and Upsets.

Joanne Kong’s Picks

Scott King’s Picks

Baltimore Ravens / Detroit Lions

Scott’s Thoughts:

Here week gooooooo. The championship games are here and we’re ready. For the first time since before I could drive, the Lions are in the NFC championship game. They’re building for a long run and are a bit ahead of schedule in my mind. The defense has gaps but can pull it together. The offense can run with anyone. I have to pick the Lions in this one.

Baltimore is the best team playing right now, but Mahomes has the momentum. I’m sticking with the Ravens and likely the Super Bowl champs.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

AFC title game: Kansas City (+4) d. Baltimore — Yes, the Ravens are at home. Yes, they are the better team in nearly every respect. Yes, Lamar Jackson is the MVP. But Pat Mahomes. That and the Chiefs defense has improved so much under Steve Spagnuolo.

NFC title game: San Francisco (-7.5) d. Detroit — Ultimately this game comes down to this. Can I trust Jared Goff on the road against a defense that’s very familiar with him from his Rams days and had plenty of success. And can I trust the Lions on grass when there numbers are middling at best as opposed to the fast track in domes. The answer to that is no, plus I think Brock Purdy bounces back and plays his best game in weeks.
