In 2022, we were over 70% for cash lineups again and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 14 of the 2023 season!

You’re welcome.

As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

And as we did last year, we’re also adding our top two player prop picks to help you win even MORE money!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 14 of the 2023 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome.

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 14 contests, along with they’re prices.

Game Notes:

  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • My approach to DFS in Week 14 is to pay up for at least one RB to anchor your team and fill up on value at WR, TE and DEF with an upper mid-priced QB option.
  • The “Free Square of the Week”™ in Week 14 is Clyde Edwards-Hilaire.  Sure, he hasn’t done anything this year, but that’s because Isiah Pacheco has been a revelation in the backfield.  With CEH now out with a shoulder injury and head coach Andy Reid dubbing CEH the “number one guy” in the backfield, though, you can bet that CEH will have every opportunity to change that in Week 14.  The Chiefs have been effective running the ball of late and the Bills are ranked only 20th against the run, so there’s plenty of upside here.  Add in that he’s priced near minimum across industry and it’s a no brainer to lock him in, enjoy the extra cap space and move on.
  • The Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers game is tied for the 2nd highest over/under of the weekend slate (46.5) and a spread of -13.5 so I’m in on particular skill players on both sides.  The Seahawks have the 23rd overall ranked defense this season, so I see big time opportunity all over the 49ers skill players, including Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, in that order.  McCaffrey in particular I’m jamming into as many lineups as I can.  He’s scored in all but one game with the 49ers and leads all running backs with 121.8 scrimmage yards per game in 2023.  The 49ers defense is 2nd against the run, but 12th against the pass, so there’s some potential there for the Seattle WRs, including DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
  • The Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills game has the highest over/under of the weekend slate (48.5) and a spread of just 1.5, so I’m in on almost every skill player on both sides, but unfortunately, they’re mostly pretty expensive.  Feel free to play Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Rashee Rice on the Chiefs in that order (my favorite play is, of course, the aforementioned CEH).  For the Bills, you can play Stefon Diggs or Josh Allen, but again, I wouldn’t load up due to the price.
  • The Rams have just the 16th ranked pass defense in the league and the Ravens are rolling, so the pass catching options there are intriguing.  In particular, Baltimore has been doing its best to keep rookie Zay Flowers involved in the offense as he most recently had 25 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown, plus 37 rush yards and a rushing TD in his last game. Flowers has reached 50 scrimmage yards in each of his last three games and in 10 of 12 games this season, giving him a solid floor.  And we know Lamar Jackson likes targeting his TE, and with no Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely is nice punt play at TE.  He caught 4 of 6 targets for 40 yards in his first game this season without Andrews, which was good for the second most targets on the team, and I see more opportunities this week for rock bottom pricing.
    • UPDATE – For those worried about weather in this game, I get it.  Looks like they’ll average about 0.04 inches of rain per hour and max wind speeds of about 9 mph.  That shouldn’t impact much, perhaps a few less plays and few more errant passes, but not a significant problem.  That being said, definitely diversify a few lineups without the Ravens to cover yourself in case weather is worst than expected.
    • Here’s some alternative lineups for those looking to diversify away from the Ravens game:

  • The Bears haven’t been good, but they’ve been better of late with Justin Fields back, and will be in a rematch against the Lions, this time in Chicago.  With the Lions having just the 21st ranked pass defense, I pretty in on Bears passing options.  DJ Moore has returned to WR1 status, having caught 7 of 9 targets for 96 yards and TD against the Lions the last time and then piling on 11 receptions from 13 targets for 114 yards against the Vikings.  He’s garnering a ridiculous target share and should continue have a high floor in Week 14.  Justin Fields also has been solid since returning, putting up 169 passing yards, a passing TD and 104 rush yards the last time out against the Lions.  Having the 2nd most rush yards per game (36.36) gives him a solid floor with rushing TD upside.
  • I know Zach Moss was mostly bust last week, but that probably didn’t hurt you in your contests since almost everyone played him.  His ownership will probably be lower this week because of that, which will be good for you as he should do better this week with Jonathan Taylor still out and facing the Bengals 27th ranked run defense.
  • Elijah Moore was back from the dead with Joe Flacco under center last week, catching 4 of a whopping 12 targets for 83 yards.  The Browns haven’t confirmed their QB starter yet, but they elevated Flacco from the practice squad which is a pretty good sign.  Moore faces the 30th ranked Jaguars pass defense, so if Flacco goes, I love the value you get from Moore.
  • On defense, I love taking value and paying down, which means I like the Cleveland Browns Defense, which is discounted on FanDuel while being one of the better defenses in the league and getting to face a Jacksonville team that could be without Trevor Lawrence (or at minimum will face a limited Trevor Lawrence).  I also like the Baltimore Ravens Defense, which has been exceptional this year and is discounted on Draft Kings.

Good luck everyone with your Week 14 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 15 Cash Lineup suggestions!
