Without further to do, here we go:

Week 13 Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

After a 64.7% record two seasons ago, I ended last season 63.3% (178-103).  So that’s eight years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  I also ended up 16-4 for Locks of Week (80%) and 8-12 for Upsets of the Week (40%) which is also eight years in a row of Locks being over 70%.  I was 13-3 in Week 12 and am now 116-64 (64.4%) overall for the season.  I hit my Lock of the Week (Cowboys) but missed my Upset of the Week (Steelers), meaning I’m 9-3 (75.0%) for Locks and 5-7 (41.7%) for Upsets so far.  But there are plenty of weeks to go!

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 13…

Lock of the Week Miami Dolphins (-9.5) over Washington Commanders

The Dolphins have the most yards (430.5) and 2nd most points (30.8) per game on offense and have only lost games this season to the Bills, Eagles and Chiefs.  The Commanders, on the other hand, have been struggling and lost 5 of their last 6 games, the only win being against the Patriots, who may be the worst team in the NFL.  Don’t overthink it.  Lock it in.

Upset of the Week New York Jets (+2.5) over Atlanta Falcons

The Jets defense has been the only thing keeping them in games, but sometimes that’s enough.  The Jets have the 4th most interceptions (12) and allow the 6th lowest passer rating (79.2) to opposing QBs this season.  Desmond Ridder is back starting for the Falcons and he hasn’t been great.  Even with the win last week, he was just 168 yards for a TD and 2 INTs and has just the 24th best passer rating (82.4) this season.  I like the potential for an upset here.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

Going with every favorite is probably a terrible strategy but the underdogs I liked the best have real problems. Like Carolina would normally be very live against collapsing Tampa Bay. But they just fired a first-year coach and no one in that locker room can feel good about it, especially the number 1 pick QB.

Or New Orleans. I could see them catching Detroit who have wobbled a bit. But the Lions had extra time and can anyone in good conscious take the Saints when they just lost to Desmond Ridder and the Falcons with make-a-wish Taysom Hill costing them again?
And speaking of Atlanta they are ripe for a letdown. But can I really council you to take the Jets after what Tim Boyle and that offense produced last week? No.

Ah but what about Philadelphia you ask? They are a 10-1 team that could quite easily be 7-4 or even 6-5. And since the 49ers have got healthy, they’ve been clearly the better team. I not only expect San Francisco to win, I think they could do it by double digits.
