In 2021, we were over 70% for cash lineups and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 16 of the 2022 season!

You’re welcome.

As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 16 of the 2022 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome.

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 16 contests, along with they’re prices.

Game Notes:

  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • My approach to DFS in Week 16 is to pay up at RB and TE and find value at QB and WR.
  • My “Free Square of the Week”™ is Gardner Minshew.  The way to beat the Cowboys defense is to run the ball, but the Eagles will likely have to chase points and Minshew isn’t half bad for that.  In fact, last time Minshew started for the Eagles, it was against the Cowboys in 2021, where he totaled 186 passing yards and 2 TDs.  If he gets that, he’ll easily meet his rock bottom pricing across industry.
    • As corollary to the above, Miles Sanders should get plenty of work on the ground, so I like playing him as well.
  • The Seattle Seahawks @ Kansas City Chiefs game is tied for the highest over/under (49.5) on the main slate, so I’m on board with both offenses.  For the Seahawks, I’m in on Geno Smith, D.K. Metcalf (particularly with Tyler Lockett out) and Marquise Goodwin, in that order.  For the Chiefs, I’m in on Travis Kelce, who is the number 1 TE in the league with the most receptions on the most targets for the most yards and most TDs of any TE in the league, Patrick Mahomes and Jerrick McKinnon, in that order.
  • The New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings game is the other game that has the highest over/under (49.5), so both sides also have some solid plays.  For the Giants, I like Darius Slayton, Richie James and Daniel Jones in a game that the Giants will likely be chasing points.  For the Vikings, I like Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson, Adam Thielen and even K.J. Osborn if you’re feeling a little saucy.
  • Derrick Henry is my favorite RB to pay up for this week, particularly with Malik Willis starting under center.  More than usual, Henry should be the focal point of the Titans offense against the LAST ranked Texans run defense, and last time they met in Week 8 he racked up 219 yards and two TDs.
  • Drake London had 70% of Desmond Ridder’s passing yards in Week 15.  Of course, that’s only 70 receiving yards, but London’s 29.1% target share is impressive and ranks 4th in the NFL.  The Falcons are shockingly still in the hunt for a playoff spot due to the sorry state of the NFC South, so you can bet they’ll be chasing points.  The Ravens have the 3rd ranked run defense, but only the 25th ranked pass defense, so if the Falcons are going to make a go of it, it’ll have to be through the air.
  • Rasheed Shahid is the last man standing with Chris Olave now ruled out.  He caught 3 of 4 targets for 95 yards and TD in Week 15, and he’s basically free across industry, so half of that output would get you solid value.  Plus, he faces the Browns 24th ranked defense, so he should have plenty of opportunity.

Good luck everyone with your Week 16 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 17 Cash Lineup suggestions!
