Waiver Favors™: 2022 Week 9 Fantasy Football Pickups

As I do every year over the last 10 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you’re in your fantasy football playoffs, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 9 of the 2022 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

Jeff Wilson Jr.

RB – Miami Dolphins – 52% Owned

Turns out acquiring Jeff Wilson was actually a good thing for the Dolphins as he formed a solid committee with Raheem Mostert out-snapping him 27-24 while rushing 9 times for 51 yards, adding 3 catches for 21 yards and a TD.  He definitely has some upside moving forward and is worthy of a stash in all 12-team leagues or deeper.

Terrace Marshall Jr.

WR – Carolina Panthers – 6% Owned

Maybe we were all a year too early on Terrace Marshall?  Over the last two weeks (with PJ Walker and Baker Mayfield under center) Marshall has had a resurgence catching 4 of 9 targets for 87 yards in Week 8 and then catching 3 of 6 targets for 53 yards and TD in Week 9.  It’s clear that Marshall will have plenty of opportunity in a rebuilding Panthers offense as they try to figure out what they have to focus on in the offseason.  He’s worth a stash in all 14-team leagues or deeper.

Cade Otton

TE – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 11% Owned

We all know that Tom Brady has been very un-Brady like this year, but he still managed to beat the Rams on a last second very Brady like TD.  And his target?  2022 fourth-round pick Cade Otton.  Interestingly, Otton caught 5 of 6 targets for 68 yards and a TD in Week 9 after averaging 5 targets a week over the last 6 weeks.  Cameron Brate has been out for 3 weeks now due to a neck injury, and who knows when he’ll be back.  We know that Brady likes to target TEs in the endzone, so Otton makes for an interesting stash in 14-team leagues or deeper.
