Week 8 Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

Over the last 4 seasons, I’ve averaged a 65% win percentage, which means that’s now eleven years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. Last year, I also was 95% on my Lock of the Week (20-1) and 50% on my Upset of the Week (10-10).  But that was the past, and this is now, and I’m shooting for twelve years in a row for my picks and Locks!

In Week 7, I had a solid 9-5 leaving me 60-46 (56.6%) for the season.

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 8…

Lock of the Week ➡ Jacksonville Jaguars (-9.5) over Indianapolis Colts

The Jacksonville Jaguars went 3–1 from Weeks 3 through 6 before its Week 7 bye, outscoring opponents 107–74, while Indianapolis went 2–3 from Weeks 3 through 7 and has lost three straight, producing only four offensive touchdowns during that skid and managing a season-low 218 yards in its 16–10 Week 7 loss to Minnesota. The quarterback trends make the case even stronger: over the Jaguars’ last four games, Trevor Lawrence completed 85 of 132 passes for 1,046 yards, 10 touchdowns and only three interceptions, and his season-long completion percentage, yards per attempt and passer rating have improved from 60.9%, 7.2 and 91.0 in 2025 to 65.2%, 8.0 and 106.2 in 2026. Daniel Jones, meanwhile, has declined dramatically from his excellent 2025 season, falling from a 68.0% completion rate, 8.1 yards per attempt and a 100.2 rating to 59.6%, 5.8 and 69.4 this year; from Weeks 3 through 7 alone, Jones threw only two touchdown passes against five interceptions with a 65.8 rating. With Jacksonville rested, playing at home and receiving substantially better quarterback play, the Jaguars shouldn’t have an issue taking care of the Colts. Lock the Jaguars in.

Upset of the Week ➡ Las Vegas Raiders (+1.5) over New York Jets

Despite the Raiders’ four-game losing streak, their offense has been considerably more productive than New York’s: from Weeks 3–7, Las Vegas averaged 26.0 points per game, compared with just 19.4 for a Jets team that most recently lost at home to a previously winless Miami team. Kirk Cousins has actually played well this season, and particularly well over those five games, completing 121 of 198 passes for 1,464 yards, 10 touchdowns and only two interceptions—an average of nearly 293 passing yards per game—and he’s developed an especially productive connection with Brock Bowers, who has accumulated 34 catches for 455 yards and three touchdowns since returning in Week 3. That combination gives Las Vegas the game’s most difficult individual matchup, while Tre Tucker’s recent emergence prevents the Jets from devoting all their coverage to Bowers. The Jets have also generated only one defensive interception all season, while the Raiders enter with a plus-four turnover differential, so Cousins should have opportunities to sustain drives without giving New York short fields. Las Vegas has already played Kansas City and Buffalo to three-point games during this losing streak, and against a 2–5 Jets team favored by only 1.5 points, I wouldn’t be surprised by a Raiders upset.

George’s Picks

George’s Thoughts:

Las Vegas at N.Y. Jets: This is that rare game that could be a last chance saloon for both sides. Kirk Cousins needs to bounce back to stop the Raiders losing streak and stave off Fernando Mendoza taking his job as the starting quarterback. If the Jets don’t win it might be the end of Aaron Glenn’s coaching tenure. I’ll take Vegas even though they are on the road because there offensive is still productive.

Atlanta at Tampa Bay: Are the Bucs back after thrashing the division leading Panthers? Maybe but Baker Mayfield only threw for 66 yards and that won’t cut it against a Falcons offense that just knocked the 49ers from the unbeaten ranks.

Kansas City at Denver: Both these teams have big problems on offense. Seattle went through the Chiefs offensive line like a hot knife through butter and smothered Patrick Mahomes. Denver’s offensive problems have been well documented. So I will take the home team and the defense that’s better at producing turnovers that lead to point. Take the Broncos.

Philadelphia at Washington: Amik Robertson is right. Washington should win and will win this game. What Jalen Hurts injury has exposed is that the Eagles defense is a bunch of weak frontrunners without Hurts and Saquon Barkley putting up big numbers to put the pressure on the other team. With the season on line the Commanders roll here.
