In 2023, we were over 70% for cash lineups again and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 14 of the 2024 season!  Yes, it doesn’t always work out, but we’ve cashed 12 out of 14 weeks this season.

You’re welcome.

As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Also, starting this season, Fan Duel will be giving yards bonuses similar to Draft Kings.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome.

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games for Week 14 contests.

FanDuel

Draft Kings

Yahoo! DFS

Game Notes:

  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • My approach to DFS in Week 13 is to pay up for at least one premium WR, get a mid-priced QB and RB, then go value for the rest including at the FLEX.
  • The “Free Square of the Week”™ are Isaac Guerendo. This is more about opportunity and value.  We haven’t seen much from Guerendo this season, but he’s a dynamic back that now has incredible opportunity with both Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason out due to injury.  Plus we all know the Bears have trouble srtopping the run, allowing the 8th most rush yards per game (135.1) to opposing RBs.  Honestly, Guerendo is so chalky this week due to his rock bottom pricing, I expect between 70 and 90% ownership in cash games, so lock him in for the savings and enjoy the flexibility with the rest of your lineup.
    • Since I’m on the Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers game, I actually like lots of players on both sides.
    • The 49ers defense hasn’t been nearly as effective of late, leading them to now allowing the 9th most points per game (24.6) and the 2nd most rushing TDs (19) to opposing teams.  That means I’m really high on Caleb Williams and De’Andre Swift (assuming he plays).  Williams has been a lot better since Shane Waldron was fired, as he’s been getting the ball out on average the fastest he’s done all season, plus he’s had more designed runs averaging 47.3 rush yards per game since Waldron was given the boot.  The possibility of a rushing TD is definitely in the cards.  Swift is also in play fur some rushing TD goodness since Roschon Johnson has been ruled out.  Swift is listed as questionable, so if he’s ruled out, feel free to pivot to Tarvis Homer.  And DJ Moore is also benefitting from Thomas Brown taking over, as Brown is making a concerted effort to get the ball to Moore to allow him to create after the catch.
    • Other than Guerrendo, I’m in on other 49ers with only a 3-point spread.  In particular, both Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings are really cheap across industry due to recency bias coming off a snow filled matchup with the Bills.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see the 49ers take advantage of Samuel as a runner more with both CMC and Mason out as well.  Take advantage of the pricing and mix them in if you need them.
  • UPDATE (12/7/24 – 1:20 PM ET) – With Breece Hall ruled out, Braelon Allen is a full-on Free Square of the Week as well.  Feel free to add him in everywhere.
  • UPDATE (12/7/24 – 6 PM ET) – With Kenneth Walker ruled out, Zach Charbonnet is also a full-on Free Square of the Week.  Feel free to add him in everywhere.
  • The Buffalo Bills @ Los Angeles Rams game has the highest over/under of the main slate (49.5) with a narrow spread of 3.5, so there’s plenty of opportunity here.  The Bills are pretty expensive, but if you have the cap space, go ahead and play Josh Allen.  He’s my favorite QB of the slate, but his price makes him tough to fit in.  For the Rams, my favorite play is Kyren Williams as the Bills allow the 3rd most yards per carry (4.9).  Williams has had TDs in back-to-back weeks and has plenty of opportunity with the 18.5 carries per game, good for 4th most in the NFL.
  • The Philadelphia Eagles have a great matchup against one of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Carolina Panthers.  The Panthers defense have allowed the 2nd most yards (392.1) and the most points (30.5) per game, so I love the matchup for Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurst, AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith.  That being said, they’re all pretty pricey, plus there’s a possibility that the Eagles may get up big in this one, so I’m prioritizing Barkley who is in an absolute smash spot.  He has the most carries (20.5), for the most yards (124) and 5th most rushing TDs (just under 1) per game of any RB in the NFL.  The Panthers allow the 3rd most rushing TDs this season (18) so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Barkley get more than 1.
  • Kylar Murray is an interesting play because of his rushing upside. He has the 6th most rushing yards (35.67) and rushing TDs (0.33) per game among QBs this season and rushed for his most yards (48) last week since Week 7.  The Seattle Seahawks defense is ranked 28th against the run, so there’s some decent upside here with Murray playing at home.  It might not be consistent, but Murray is priced right for the upside, plus threw for nearly 300 yards against the Seahawks when they met earlier this season.
  • As for defense, you know I love paying down and getting value to spend more of the cap space elsewhere, and this week we got some decent cheap options with the Tennessee Titans Defense and the Jacksonville Jaguars Defense facing each other and the Miami Dolphins Defense facing the struggling New York Jets.

Good luck everyone with your Week 14 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 15 Cash Lineup suggestions!
