Week 4 NFL Picks
By the Football Garbage Time Staff
Week 3 really shook things up, narrowing the margin between everyone on the staff. How will Week 4 effect our records? Well, let’s take a look!
Week 4 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Have the Philadelphia Eagles turned the corner? Well, at least against the lowly Washington Redskins, I think they’ll continue to roll. Ryan Mathews reinvigorated the ground game in Philly, meaning DeMarco Murray may return to less carries, but all in all, a full blown RBBC in Philly should help them stymie defenses. The Redskins have an above average run defense, but is completely vulnerable in the secondary. Sam Bradford should have no trouble “managing” his team to victory.
How will the Pittsburgh Steelers deal with the loss of Big Ben to an MCL injury? We covered this in our podcast this week, but honestly, Pittsburgh can still be successful with Michael Vick as long as they tailor an offense to his “skill set”. Problem is this is a short week against a competent Baltimore Ravens defense. The Steelers may right the ship without Ben, but not this week.
Will the New Orleans Saints vs. the Dallas Cowboys be a battle of the backup QBs? Brees says he feels better and will play, but I’m not 100% sure it will make a difference. Assuming he plays though, I think they get back on track against Dallas and the Weedon Warriors.
Scott King’s Picks
Scott’s Thoughts:
You would think after going 12-4 and moving into first place that I would feel good about my picks. Well you would be wrong. There are still a lot of questions out there and now the injuries are stacking up. There is still a lot to learn about the league and this week may not clear things up. Oakland vs. Chicago should be shown in prison.
Joanne Kong’s Picks
Joanne’s Thoughts:
New York Giants @ Buffalo Bills
I don’t know if this pick is based on what is going to happen or what I hope will happen. The Bills have been a force and the Giants have had some trouble. Although Giants’ Victor Cruz is still out, the Bills LeSean McCoy (RB) and Sammy Watkins (WR) are also said to be out. I’m praying that my Giants will bring back a win from this away game.
Oakland Raiders @ Chicago Bears
The Seattle Seahawks shut the Bears out in week 2. The Raiders might not shut the Bears out, but without Jay Cutler (I know its hard to believe I typed those words), the Bears have little chance for a win.
John Kirkland’s Picks
John’s Thoughts:
Only comment – thank god the Patriots aren’t playing!
Joey Alibro’s Picks
Ryan Whitfield’s Picks
Ryan’s Thoughts:
I’m in need of a bounce back week here as after two mediocre weeks I’ve allowed Ha Kung to catch me here. So here’s some lock picks for the week.
Vick is not ready for this game tonight and despite a 200 yard night from Leveon Bell the Ravens will get in the win column.
The Jets bounce back this week and destroy Miami in London to the point that it will be hard to imagine Philbin isn’t fired by the time the plane touches back down state side post game.
Atlanta, Cincinnati, Arizona, Green Bay and Carolina all stay undefeated. Which means my upset of the week is Minnesota over Denver. It will be a defensive battle where Peterson proves to be the difference.
Seattle gets up 2-2 and New Orleans will be in straight panic mode after Dallas rebounds to 3-1.
