By the Football Garbage Time Staff

If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.

And if you’ve been following us, you know that we here at Football Garbage Time have gone head-to-head against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks for the last 7 seasons.  Why?  Because they’re awesome competitors, they KNOW their sports, and, heck, they’re just good guys!  This year we’ll have their picks up right HERE, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.

Without further to do, here we go:

Divisional Round Playoff Games

Ha Kung Wong’s Picks

Kansas City Chiefs over the Houston Texans (Under 41.5)

Detroit Lions over the Washington Commanders (Under 55.5)

Philadelphia Eagles over LA Rams (Over 43.5)

Baltimore Ravens over Buffalo Bills (Under 51.5)

Ha Kung’s Thoughts:

After a 64.7% record three seasons ago, and 63.3% (178-103) two seasons ago, I ended up with 63.4% (180-104) last season.  So that’s nine years in a row with over a 60% pick rate.  I also had 85% right for Locks of the Week (17-3) and 42.1% for Upsets of the Week (8-11), so not only did I beat my 2022 percentages for both Locks and Upsets, but I have nine years in a row of Locks being over 70%.

I had a coin flip Wild Card Weekend, going 3-3 leaving me at 192-86 for the season (69.1%) and hit my Lock of the Week with the Ravens (15-3 on the season), but missed my upset with the Vikings (8-10 on the season).

Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Divisional Round Playoffs…

Lock of the Week Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5) over Houston Texans

I discussed this on this week’s podcast, and I’m not taking anything away from the Texans and what they’ve done this season, including with upsetting the Chargers in a big way in Wild Card Weekend.  But the Chiefs have serious playoff experience and are well rested coming into the playoffs.  Texans have been mistake prone and I think the Chiefs defense step up.  Lock in the Chiefs.

Upset of the Week None this Week!

Joanne Kong’s Picks

Kansas City Chiefs over the Houston Texans

Detroit Lions over the Washington Commanders

LA Rams over Philadelphia Eagles

Buffalo Bills over Baltimore Ravens

Scott King’s Picks

Kansas City Chiefs over the Houston Texans

Detroit Lions over the Washington Commanders

Philadelphia Eagles over LA Rams

Baltimore Ravens over Buffalo Bills

Scott’s Thoughts:

Last week was a struggle for me. I’m very concerned about the Lions versus Jayden Daniels but can’t pick against them. I couldn’t go all home teams so I decided to go with Lamar coming up with the big road win.

Ryan’s Picks

George’s Picks

Kansas City Chiefs over the Houston Texans

Washington Commanders over Detroit Lions

Philadelphia Eagles over LA Rams

Baltimore Ravens over Buffalo Bills

George’s Thoughts:

Houston at Kansas City: We’ve seen the Texans in this spot go up 24 and still lose at Chiefs. A Houston upset here would go down as 1 of the biggest in NFL playoffs history. That won’t happen.

Detroit at Washington: Can Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense keep up with the Lions potent attack. Can Washington’s defense force turnovers out of Jared Goff. Washington has a knack for winning games late. Daniels does it again and adds to his legend.

L.A. Rams at Philadelphia: Both these teams won with ease but you have to wonder what the Rams have left in the tank after an unplanned trip to Arizona and a very emotional weeks with the wildfires in California. Eagles played bad enough that this is almost a bounceback game for them. Philly wins.

Baltimore at Buffalo: Another game that might come down to who has the ball last. Also a question of which coaching staff will flinch and make a mistake. Both these teams are on a mission I just think the Ravens are the better team.
