As I do every year over the last 12 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 14 of the 2024 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running. You’re welcome. Again.
As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.
And don’t forget that I have my previous recommended pickups this season at the end of the article, categorized by which leagues I would still pick them up in.
Last week, I made a number of suggestions for pickups, and many of those still stand if their available in your league, such as Isaac Guerendo, Jerry Jeudy, Ray-Ray McCloud, Jonnu Smith and Adam Thielen. Here are the new waiver wire suggestions:
Patrick Taylor Jr.
RB – San Francisco 49ers – 4% Owned
Yikes, the 49ers are cursed. Both Christian McCaffery and Jordan Mason were placed on IR and Isaac Guerendo stepped admirably until the 4th quarter where he left the game with a foot injury in an air cast. Not great. Looks like Patrick Taylor is the next man up getting 7 carries for 25 yards and TD in limited time, so he should slot right in if Guerendo is out for extended time. You need to go back and stash Taylor now if he’s on waivers just in case. Go get him in all leagues.
Sincere McCormick
RB – Las Vegas Raiders – 15% Owned
With both Zamir White and Alexander Mattison out, it wasn’t Ameer Abdullah back in control of the backfield, but Sincere McCormick. McCormick managed to turn 15 carries into 78 rush yards as well as catch 2 targets for 11 receiving yards. It’s not necessarily blowing the doors off, but with Aiden O’Connell injured and the Raiders going into evaluation mode, it would make sense for them to give McCormick more carries in light of his promising Week 14 performance. Go ahead and pick him up in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
Kendre Miller
RB – New Orleans Saints – 4% Owned
The Saints managed to get a win over the lowly Giants, but the season is pretty much done so it’s time to evaluate the roster. Head coach Darren Rizzi already mentioned that Kendre Miller, their 2023 3rd round pick, was getting to get a long look and he certainly did in Week 14 getting 10 carries for 32 yards and a TD. It’s entirely possible that the Saints decide to put Miller in a time share with Alvin Kamara for the rest of the season, so it’s worth stashing him in all 14-team leagues or deeper to see how it pans out.
Jalen McMillan
WR – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 5% Owned
Rookie Jalen McMillan might finally be getting going. McMillan had the best game of his career in Week 14, catching 4 of 7 targets for 59 yards and 2 TDs. Mike Evans and Cade Otton aren’t going anywhere, but it’s possible McMillan might get more looks as the season goes on so he’s worth a stash in all 14-team leagues or deeper.
Juwan Johnson
TE – New Orleans Saints – 10% Owned
Taysom Hill going on IR set up Juwan Johnson as the primary pass-catching tight end. And he did exactly that playing the vast majority of the snaps while running 28 routes on 36 drop backs in Week 14 tallying 4 receptions on 5 targets for 50 yards and TD. Derek Carr is looking for him and you should to in 12-team leagues or deeper.
