In 2023, we were over 70% for cash lineups again and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 13 of the 2024 season! Yes, it doesn’t always work out, but we’ve cashed 11 out of 13 weeks this season.
You’re welcome.
As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups. Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below. Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!
Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season!
Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games. They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.
Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.
First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:
- For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.
Also, starting this season, Fan Duel will be giving yards bonuses similar to Draft Kings.
Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games. Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.
As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider. You’re welcome.
So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games for Week 13 contests.
FanDuel
Draft Kings
Yahoo! DFS
Game Notes:
- For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS. We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week. But remember that DFS is a salary cap game. You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around. I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
- My approach to DFS in Week 13 is to pay up for at least one premium WR, get a mid-priced QB and RB, then go value for the rest including at the FLEX.
- The “Free Square of the Week”™ are Gus Edwards. This is more about opportunity and value. Edwards will be the Chargers lead back in Week 13 and is essentially minimum salary across industry because JK Dobbins wasn’t ruled out until after prices for Week 13 dropped. But the Falcons defense isn’t that great, as they do allow 127.2 rush yards per game and the 3rd most receptions to RBs per game (6.18) in the NFL. Go ahead and lock him in and enjoy the savings.
- The Los Angeles Chargers @ Atlanta Falcons game has the 3rd highest over/under of the main slate (47.5) with a narrow spread of just 1, so there’s plenty of opportunity here.
- The Falcons defense allows the 8th most points (24.9) and the 7th most passing yards (229.9) per game and the 4th most passing TDs (21) to opposing offenses, so I’m in on most of the Chargers skill positions, including Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey and the above mentioned Gus Edwards.
- The Chargers defense on the other hand is one of the best in the league allowing the least amount of points per game (15.9), but they still allow 323.6 yards per game, so its not a completely bad matchup. That being said, I’m not excited about many of the Falcons players, and I’m definitely avoiding the Falcons RBs since the Chargers allow the least number of rushing TDs (5), but I don’t mine sprinkling in a little Drake London in what looks to be a potential shoutout.
- The Philadelphia Eagles @ Baltimore Ravens game has the highest over/under of the main slate (51.0), so there’s also plenty of opportunity here.
- The Eagles have been on fire of late having the 3rd most yards (389.1) and the 7th most points (26.9) per game in the NFL. The Ravens defense has been stout against the run, but they’ve allowed the 2nd most passing yards (277.7) per game and the 3rd most passing TDs (22) to opposing offenses. That means I’m in on Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith (if he plays, since he’s been limited with a hamstring injury) and Dallas Goedert. Saquon Barkley is typically matchup proof, but I’m fading him at his salary this week.
- The Ravens are no slouch on offense, but the Eagles defense is particularly good. That being said, Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are essentially matchup proof, but the high price might make them hard to play.
- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a great matchup against one of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have allowed the 3rd most yards (387.3) and points (30.9) per game, so I love the matchup for Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, Cade Otton and Bucky Irving. Mayfield has the 6th highest passer rating (104.1) in the NFL this season, and with Mike Evans rounding back into form after coming back from injury, I see some huge upside. In Week 12, Bucky Irving played more snaps and ran more routes than Rachaad White, racking up a career-high 151 yards from scrimmage, so I’m favoring Irving over White this week.
- The Patriots defense allow the 6th most passing TDs (20) to opposing offenses and have the 4th least INTs (4), so I’m a fan of the Colts pass catchers. With Josh Downs ruled out with a shoulder injury and Alex Pierce carrying a a questionable tag I’m a big fan of both Michael Pittman and Adonai Mitchell.
- Chase Brown is really coming on with the Bengals. He’s played 85 percent of snaps and handled every RB touch over the last 3 games. He’s also been getting plenty of receiving work (23 targets over the last 3 games) and has TD upside, so his reasonable pricing makes his a terrific play, particularly with the Steelers defense allowing 11 rushing TDs over 11 games.
- The Cardinals aren’t terrible on defense, but they do allow 235.2 receiving yards per game to opposing WRs. Jordan Addison is on a heater with 8+ targets and TD in each of his last two games and makes for a nice value option, while Justin Jefferson is a solid option with depressed pricing due to recency bias.
- As for defense, you know I love paying down and getting value to spend more of the cap space elsewhere, and this week we got some decent cheap options with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Carolina Panthers on Yahoo DFS, the Minnesota Vikings Defense against the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots Defense against the Indianapolis Colts on FanDuel and the Houston Texans Defense against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Los Angeles Chargers Defense against the Atlanta Falcons on Draft Kings.
Good luck everyone with your Week 13 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 14 Cash Lineup suggestions!
