As I do every year over the last 12 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article!  And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you’re in your fantasy football playoffs, so congratulations!

I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 8 of the 2024 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running.  You’re welcome.  Again.

As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.

And don’t forget that I have my previous recommended pickups this season at the end of the article, categorized by which leagues I would still pick them up in.

Last week, I made a number of suggestions for pickups, and many of those still stand if their available in your league, such as Cedric Tillman, Romeo Doubs, Keon Coleman and Kirk Cousins.  Here are the new waiver wire suggestions:

UPDATE (10/29/24) With Diontae Johnson traded to the Baltimore Ravens, I’m just going remind you all to pick up Xavier Legette (15% Owned).  We mentioned his should be picked up awhile back, but he should definitely be picked up in all 12-team leagues of deeper as the likely WR1 in Carolina.

Bo Nix

QB – Denver Broncos – 25% Owned

I was all in on Bo Nix for DFS this week against a terrible Panthers defense, but I didn’t think he’d complete 28 of 37 passes for 284 yards with 3 TDs adding 4 carries for 5 yards and a rushing TD.  That’s not just good, that’s amazing.  That being said, the Panthers defense is really bad, so temper expectations for the remainder of the season.  Feel free to stash Nix as a backup QB, or even consider starting him 12-team leagues or deeper, and definitely in every two QB league.

Malik Willis

QB – Green Bay Packers – 0% Owned

Jordan Love went down with a groin injury, and he appears to be at best week-to-week, so we may see more of Malike Willis.  Willis completed 4 of 5 passes for 56 yards and a TD while rushing 4 times for 23 yards in relief of Love and we’ve seen him have success earlier this season with all the great pass catchers in Green Bay.  If you have Love, pick up Willis immediately.  If you don’t have Love and you need a backup, go ahead and stash him in 12-team leagues or deeper, and again in all two QB leagues.

Michael Wilson

WR – Arizona Cardinals – 16% Owned

I was in on Michael Wilson in the preseason, but he hasn’t been that productive, or at least until now.  He managed to catch 5 of 6 targets for 31 yards and a TD in Week 8.  That’s 2 TDs in the last 3 weeks.  He’s obviously being Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride in the pecking order, but he certainly appears to be getting regular targets, and that’s worth a look in 14-team leagues and deeper.

Elijah Moore

WR – Cleveland Browns – 2% Owned

We recommended grabbing Cedric Tillman last week and, if you did and played him, he really paid off this week.  But if you missed out, Elijah Moore might be a nice consolation.  He managed to catch 8 of a career-high 12 targets for 85 yards from Jameis Winston in Week 8.  It’s also Ken Dorsey’s first game calling the offense, and it appears that both Dorsey and Winston really like Moore.  Who knows if this is repeatable, but the Browns managed to beat the Ravens with this combination, so I don’t see why they would move away from it now.  Got get Moore in all 14-team leagues or deeper.

Parker Washington

WR – Jacksonville Jaguars – 0% Owned

With injuries to Brian Thomas (chest), Christian Kirk (collarbone) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) there’s definitely some potential targets to go around in Jacksonville moving forward.  Kirk is definitely out for the season, so at worst, Parker Washington should take over as the usual WR3 for the Jags.  In Week 8, Washington caught 3 of 4 targets for 46 yards on a 73 percent snap share, and that could increase if Thomas or Davis are out.  Stash him in all 14-team leagues or deeper.

UPDATE for Monday Night Football

Note that I previously recommended Calvin Austin III (1% Owned) as a pick up, and after Week 8, am recommending him again in all 14-team leagues or deeper.

Darius Slayton

WR – New York Giants – 13% Owned

Darius Slayton has quietly been on a heater recently, catching 4 of 7 targets for 108 yards in Week 8, now averaging 4.75 receptions on 8 targets for 74.5 yards and 0.25 TDs over his last 4 games.  Regardless of who is behind center, Slayton is trending up and worth your attention in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
