As I do every year over the last 12 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article! And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you’re in your fantasy football playoffs, so congratulations!I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 7 of the 2024 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running. You’re welcome. Again.
As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.
And don’t forget that I have my previous recommended pickups this season at the end of the article, categorized by which leagues I would still pick them up in.
Last week, I made a number of suggestions for pickups, and many of those still stand if their available in your league, such as Tank Bigsby, Kareem Hunt, Drake Maye. Jauan Jennings and Hunter Henry. Here are the new waiver wire suggestions:
Romeo Doubs
WR – Green Bay Packers – 44% Owned
Romeo Doubs led the Packers in receiving in Week 6 catching 8 of 10 targets for 94 yards. He followed that up in Week 7 leading the Packers in receiving again with 8 receptions for 94 yards. Jacksonville and Detroit are in the horizon, and Daubs appears to be locked in as at least WR2, if now WR1, in Green Bay. Got get him in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
Cedric Tillman
WR – Cleveland Browns – 0% Owned
With Amari Cooper out of town to Buffalo, three-receiver sets in Cleveland now are comprised of Jerry Jeudy, Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman, but it was Tillman that led all WRs with 8 receptions on a whopping 12 targets for 81 yards. With Deshaun Watson likely out for the season with an Achilles injury, both Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Jameis Winston preferred David Njoku, but only slightly more than Tillman. At 0% owned, it’s definitely a decent lottery ticket to grab in 14-team standard leagues and deeper, and most PPR leagues.
Keon Coleman
WR – Buffalo Bills – 32% Owned
Keon Coleman has been inconsistent, but he really broke out in Week 7 catching 4 of 7 targets for 125 yards. He could have don more but had a TD overturned on review.
We thought that Amari Cooper’s arrival might limit his targets, but it instead opened up Coleman in terms of coverage, allowing him to go nuts. It’s unclear if this will continue, but we know Coleman is talented, and we also know that safeties will have to respect Cooper, so Coleman is worth stashing in 12-team leagues and deeper.
Zack Ertz
TE – Washington Commanders – 30% Owned
Zack Ertz hasn’t been consistent, but he’s totaled 34 targets over 7 games, and that’s with both Jaylen Daniels and Marcus Mariota behind center. In week 7, Ertz caught 4 of 5 targets for 40 yards and a TD. TE has been weak this season, so Ertz is worth your attention in 12-team leagues or deeper.
UPDATE for Monday Night Football
Cade Otton
TE – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 39% Owned
Cade Otton had a huge night pacing all Bucs receivers by catching 8 of 10 targets for 100 yards. But this didn’t come out of nowhere as Otton had averaged 7.4 targets per game over his last 5 games. With Chris Godwin out with a season ending ankle injury and Mike Evan nursing a hamstring injury, Otton’s opportunities should continue to grow moving forward, so grab him in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
Will Dissly
TE – Los Angeles Chargers – 0% Owned
If you missed on Otton and still need a TE, Will Dissly is worth your consideration. Dissly snagged 9 of a whopping 11 targets for 81 yards on Monday night, leading all Chargers in in receptions, receiving yards and targets. Quentin Johnston was out due to injury, so that might have helped his target share, but with those numbers, the Chargers would be crazy not to give him more opportunity moving forward. Feel free to stash him in all 14-team leagues or deeper.
Here are pickups that I’ve discussed in previous “Waiver Favors” and where I think they should be picked up:
