Week 5 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
After a 64.7% record three seasons ago, and 63.3% (178-103) two seasons ago, I ended up with 63.4% (180-104) last season. So that’s nine years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. I also had 85% right for Locks of the Week (17-3) and 42.1% for Upsets of the Week (8-11), so not only did I beat my 2022 percentages for both Locks and Upsets, but I have nine years in a row of Locks being over 70%.
I had a decent Week 4, going 10-6 leaving me 37-27 for the season (57.8%), hit my Lock of the Week with the Texans (2-2 on the season) and missed my Upset of the Week with the Bills losing to the Ravens (2-2 on the season).
Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 5…
Lock of the Week ➡ Chicago Bears (+3.5) over Carolina Panthers
The Panthers have definitely been better since Andy Dalton took over for Bryce Young. But let’s remember who Andy Dalton is, as there’s a reason why he was serving as the Panthers backup. Dalton, in total, has a 1.7 to 1 TD to INT ratio and hasn’t really found success since leaving the Bengals. He’s had only 1 INT in 2 starts so far this season, but he’s due against a Bears defense that allows the 8th least points this season (18.8) and has the 3rd most takeaways (8). Add in that Caleb Williams and the Bears offense have been taking short but steady steps forward and get to face a Panthers defense that allows the most points the game to opposing offenses. I like the Bears as the lock of the week.
Upset of the Week ➡ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1.5) over Atlanta Falcons
The Buccaneers had a weird slip up against the Broncos in Week 3, but have otherwise been incredibly solid against the Commanders, Lions and Eagles. The Falcons have been inconsistent on offense and had to rely on 4 FGs, including Younghoe Koo’s career record 58 yarder. Can the Falcons pull it out? Sure they could, but the Buccaneers have been much more consistent, so I like the potential upset here.
Joanne Kong’s Picks
Scott King’s Picks
Scott’s Thoughts:
A couple of rough weeks with games coming down to the wire. I’ve been on the wrong side of all the close ones. Need to bounce back.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
International games are often weird, and underdogs often do well. And the public will be against the Jets because they somehow lost to the Broncos. The Jets defense is playing well and will get 1 over on their old quarterback.
Now that it’s October, Cincinnati will start to roll. And they catch Baltimore at the perfect time. The Ravens were scintillating in the total destruction of the Bills. And that makes this week the classic letdown spot.
Speaking of Buffalo, they are no longer unbeaten after running into a buzz saw in Baltimore. And Houston won but really struggled against Jacksonville. We’ve had the classic letdown game, the Bills will win in a classic bounceback situation.
Yes Pittsburgh lost, but they finally saw that their offense produce a lot of points and yards. Perfect time to play the Cowboys struggling defense and even with the extra time off, I think the Steelers rebound.
Jaguars get in the win column no matter who the QB is in Indianapolis. Washington is in a massive trap game with Cleveland. Commanders win a low-scoring tilt with a late TD. Raiders stop the Broncos surprising win streak.
