In 2023, we were over 70% for cash lineups again and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 7 of the 2024 season!
You’re welcome.
As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups. Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below. Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!
Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season!
Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games. They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.
Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.
First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:
- For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.
Also, starting this season, Fan Duel will be giving yards bonuses similar to Draft Kings.
Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games. Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.
As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider. You’re welcome.
So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 7 contests.
FanDuel
Draft Kings
Yahoo! DFS
Game Notes:
- For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS. We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey (pre-injury of course) are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week. But remember that DFS is a salary cap game. You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around. I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
- My approach to DFS in Week 7 is to pay up for QB and RB, then go value for the remainder of the lineup, particularly at the FLEX.
- The “Free Square of the Week”™ is Jalen Coker. In the last two games without Adam Thielen, Coker caught all 7 targets for a total of 98 yards. He’s not going to blow the doors off, but he’s getting consistent looks functioning as the WR3 in Carolina and he’s basically minimum price across industry. Carolina’s defense gave up 30-plus points for the 3rd consecutive week, and Coker is likely to continue benefiting from positive game scripts moving forward.
- The Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons game is tied for the highest over/under of the main slate (51.5), so there’s plenty of opportunity here. The Seahawks allow the 9th most points per game (25.0) and both teams have among the most plays per game because of their fast snap rate, the Falcons taking the fewest seconds per snap (25.1) and the Seahawks taking the 2nd fewest seconds per snap (25.4). So I expect plenty of snaps in a shootout, which means I love DK Metcalf, Kenneth Walker, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Tyler Lockett and Geno Smith for the Seahawks and Kirk Cousins, Bijan Robinson and Drake London for the Falcons.
- UPDATE (Oct. 19, 2024): Kenneth Walker has picked up a Questionable tag due to an illness. Keep a close eye on this and feel free to pivot to Zach Charbonnet if Walker is ruled out.
- The Carolina Panthers @ Washington Commanders game is the other game tied for the highest over/under of the main slate (51.5), so I’m in on most of the skill players here as well. For the Panthers, I’m in on Chuba Hubbard, Diontae Johnson (assuming he plays) and the above noted Jalen Coker. Hubbard has been totally solid with Andy Dalton under center and faces a Commanders defense Washington has permitted the 6th most rushing yards per game (119.2) to running backs this season. For the Commanders, I really like Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin and Zach Ertz. The Commanders have the highest implied total (30 points) on the main slate, and Jayden Daniels is the reason. Daniels is second among QBs in rushing yards (322) and rushing TDs (4) as well as having the 6th highest passer rating. Daniels is the complete DFS package facing a Panthers defense which has allowed the 4th most total yards (379.8) and most points (33.8) per game. That obviously bodes well for every Commander skill player, but definitely for Daniels top target McLaurin.
- The Green Bay Packers allow the 8th most receiving yards per game (228.7) and the 6th most receiving TDs (10) so I’m super in on the Houston Texans WRs including both Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell. Dell in particular is a decent deal as his priced hasn’t come up much after taking over for an injured Nico Collins. Last week he caught 7 of 9 targets for 57 yards and a TD, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him do something similar again.
- The Vikings are pretty good stopping the run, but they do allow the 11th most receptions per game to opposing RBs (4.60), so I like Jahmyr Gibbs who’s the Lions passing down back, and who happens to be on a team that has the 4th most rush yards per game (157.8).
- Kyren Williams has handled 80.5% of the Rams carries and used them to average 72.0 rushing yards per game, 2.8 receptions per game, 14.2 receiving yards per game, and total 6 rushing TDs and one receiving TD, with at least 1 TD per game. Now he gets to face a Raiders defense that has allowed the 10th most rush yards (140.3) per game to opposing RBs.
- As for defense, you know I love paying down and getting value to spend more of the cap space elsewhere, and this week we got some decent options with the Los Angeles Rams Defense facing the Raiders headed up by turnover prone Aiden O’Connell minus Davante Adams and Jacoby Meyers, Cincinnati Bengals Defense facing the Browns sans Amari Cooper, and on Yahoo, the Buffalo Bills Defense facing the struggling Tennessee Titans.
Good luck everyone with your Week 7 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 8 Cash Lineup suggestions!
