In 2023, we were over 70% for cash lineups again and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 6 of the 2024 season!

You’re welcome.

As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Also, starting this season, Fan Duel will be giving yards bonuses similar to Draft Kings.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome.

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 5 contests.

FanDuel

Draft Kings

Yahoo! DFS

Game Notes:

  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey (pre-injury of course) are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • My approach to DFS in Week 6 is to pay up for a mid-high QB, one RB & TE, then go value for the remainder of the lineup, particularly at the FLEX.
  • The “Free Square of the Week”™ is Bucky Irving.  With Rachaad White out with a foot injury, Irving should get all the carries he can handle.  He’s averaging 5.6 yards per carry and 5.7 yards per reception this season and should be able to easily surpass his value pricing.
    • The alternative “Free Square of the Week”™ is Trey Sermon. Last week, he had 16 touches for 63 total yards and TD subbing in for an injured Jonathan Taylor.  When Sermon subbed in for Taylor in Week 15 of last season, he had a very similar 17 carries for 88 yards, so this is exactly in line with what we thought would happen.  The Titans are middle of the pack in run defense, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see more of the same in Week 6.  He’s still pretty close to minimum price across industry, so lock him in and enjoy the savings.
    • Some other interesting cheap alternatives, depending on your slate, include Tyrone Tracy Jr., now that Devin Singletary is out, and Austin Ekeler, now that Brian Robinson is out.
  • The Detroit Lions @ Dallas Cowboys game has the highest over/under of the main slate (52.5), so there’s plenty of opportunity here.  Since the Lions have the 7th most rush yards per game (151.3) and the Cowboys allow the 8th most rush yards per game (135.0) and the 2nd most rushing TDs (8) of any team in the NFL, I’m in on both Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.  And since the Cowboys have the 3rd most passing yards per game (271.6) of any offense in the NFL and the Lions allow the 6th most passing yards per game (258.3) to opposing offenses, all Dallas passing and receiving options are in play including Jalen Tolbert, Jake Ferguson, Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, in that order based on value and upside.  Tolbert was great playing WR2 last week with Brandin Cooks out catching 7 targets for 87 yards and TD, and his pricing hasn’t caught up, so I’m fan of using him to save cap space.  And Ferguson makes for a solid TE play seeing as how he’s consistently had 6 receptions in 3 straight games.  That’s fantastic for full PPR sites like Draft Kings.
  • The Arizona Cardinals @ Green Bay Packers game has the third highest over/under of the main slate (47), so I’m in on most of the skill players here, at least for the Packers.  Cardinals have allowed the 8th most yards (360.6) and 8th most points (25.8) per game to opposing offenses this season.  The Packers offense is humming, even with the injuries, and Jordan Love should have his way in what will likely be a shootout.  Even if Christian Watson returns this week, he’s unlikely to have a big role after suffering an ankle sprain, so Dontayvion Wicks should continue to be a safe and cheap option to use.
  • The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a bye healthy and with both of their top WRs back, AJ Brown and Devonta Smith.  And they get to face the struggling Cleveland Browns, who just let dual threat Jayden Daniels throw for 238 yards and rush for 82 yards in Week 5.  I’m liking all of the Eagles passing offense this week, but in particular Jalen Hurts, who’s priced is depressed due to recent poor performances when he was without his top 2 receiving options.  AJ Brown also appears to have moderately depressed pricing across industry, so I like playing him too.
  • Derrick Henry has been rejuvenated since joining the Ravens.  He’s leading the league in rushing and has scored at least one TD in every game this season and the Commanders have given up at least 10 rush yards per game in evert game this season.  Feel free to pay up to lock him in.
  • As for defense, you know I love paying down and getting value to spend more of the cap space elsewhere, and this week we got some decent options with the Los Angeles Chargers Defense facing the Broncos, Denver Broncos Defense facing the Chargers, the Philadelphia Eagles Defense facing the turnover prone Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts Defense against the struggling Tennessee Titans.

Good luck everyone with your Week 6 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 7 Cash Lineup suggestions!
