As I do every year over the last 12 years, I’m here to help with waiver wire adds via my weekly Waiver Favors™ article! And I’m assuming if you’re reader right now, you’re in your fantasy football playoffs, so congratulations!I’ll make a couple suggestions for after Week 4 of the 2024 fantasy football season that hopefully will keep your team running. You’re welcome. Again.
As usual, all pickups are available in at least 50% of Yahoo standard fantasy football leagues (with some minor exceptions) as of Sunday evening.
And don’t forget that I have my previous recommended pickups this season at the end of the article, categorized by which leagues I would still pick them up in.
Last week, I made a number of suggestions for pickups, and many of those still stand if their available in your league, such as Andy Dalton, Tutu Atwell, Bucky Irving and Braelon Allen. Here are the new waiver wire suggestions:
Chase Brown
RB – Cincinnati Bengals – 61% Owned
We all thought that Zack Moss and Chase Brown would split rushing opportunities pretty evenly at the beginning of the season, but that wasn’t to be with Moss taking the majority of the opportunities. But Brown continued to be more efficient even with less opportinity and finally broke our with 15 carries for 80 yards and two TDs in Week 4. He added 2 receptions on 3 targets for 12 yards. The Bengals led the entire game, so it’s unclear if Brown’s increased involvement was due to game script or whether Brown has a larger role consistently moving forward, but he’s worth a stash now in all leagues before it’s too late.
Kareem Hunt
RB – Kansas City Chiefs – 35% Owned
Wow, Kareem Hunt is back. Hunt was added to the 53-man roster Tuesday after joining Kansas City’s practice squad last week basically from his couch. Carson Steele had a grip on early down work until he fumbled in the 1st quarter and was essentially never seen from again. In stepped Hunt with 14 carries for 69 yards and catching 2 of 3 targets for 16 receiving yards. What this means for the Chiefs backfield is unclear, but Hunt is worth stashing in all leagues.
Jeremy McNichols
RB – Washington Commanders – 0% Owned
Brian Robinson controls the Commanders backfield, but with Austin Ekeler out this week, Jeremy McNichols got the change of pace work with 8 carries for 68 yards and 2 TDs while catching his only target for 6 yards. If Ekeler doesn’t clear the concussion protocol in Week 5, McNichols is worth a look as a flex option in 14-team leagues order deeper.
Mike Williams
WR – New York Jets – 21% Owned
We all thought that Mike Williams would get more opportunity as one of the top 2 WRs with the Jets after he returned from an ACL tear, and he’s done exactly that, culminating in a Week 4 performance where he caught 4 of 5 targets for 67 yards. He got less targets than each of Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Tyler Conklin, but his role is increasing and the Jets need every weapon they got. Feel free to consider him as a WR3/4/Flex in 12-team leagues or deeper.

Xavier Legette
WR – Carolina Panthers – 14% Owned
I loved Xavier Legette going to the Panthers in the draft, but his production was essentially nonexistent until Andy Dalton arrived. And in Week 4, he caught 6 of his 10 targets for 66 yards and a TD, adding two carries for 10 rush yards. With Adam Thielen out with a hamstring injury, Dalton is looking at Legette more and more, which can result in a big breakout sooner rather than later. If Thielen doesn’t return, Legette may become a mainstay of this offense, so go stash him in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
Dontayvion Wicks
WR – Green Bay Packers – 14% Owned
With Christian Watson likely missing extended time with an injury, Dontayvion Wicks played a season-high 58 snaps and 13 targets in Week 4 and is likely to get a chance to meet that in Week 5. Jordan Love was rusty for 3 quarters after returning from injury, but really turned it on in the 4th, and I expect more of that than the latter. Feel free to roster Wicks in all 12-team leagues or deeper.
