In 2023, we were over 70% for cash lineups again and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 4 of the 2024 season!

You’re welcome.

As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Also, starting this season, Fan Duel will be giving yards bonuses similar to Draft Kings.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome.

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games and player props for Week 4 contests.

Game Notes:

  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey (pre-injury of course) are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • My approach to DFS in Week 4 is to pay up at QB and WR, then go value for the remainder of the lineup, particularly at TE since the top TEs haven’t been consistent this season.
  • The “Free Square of the Week”™ is Elijah Higgins.  With Trey McBride out, Higgins is most likely to takeover at TE for the Cardinals.  Over the 3 weeks playing behind McBride, Higgins caught all 4 of his targets for 41 yards and a TD.  He’s minimum price across industry so I like the upside for the savings, but be aware that he’s more of a punt with upside that should help you build up your roster elsewhere.
    • If you’re looking for a safer free square, go for Diontae Johnson who broke out with 8 for 12 targets for 122 yards and a TD in Week 3 with new QB Andy Dalton.  That was good for 3rd most in target share (37.8%), 4th most in receptions (eight) and 2nd most in receiving yards (122) among all WR in Week 3.  He’s still priced down across industry due to his slow start with Bryce Young.
  • I also still like Jerome Ford as a reasonable value play with Nick Chubb on the PUP list, particularly against a Raiders defense that has allowed the 3rd most rush yards to opposing offenses this season.
  • The Washington Commanders @ Arizona Cardinals game has the highest over/under of the main slate (49), so I’m in on most of the skill players here, particularly Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin, Brian Robinson and Zach Ertz for the Commanders and Kylar Murray, Marvin Harrison Jr. and James Conner (and of course, the afore mentioned Elijah Higgins) for the Cardinals. The Commanders defense has been particularly abysmal, allowing the 3rd most points (29.3) and the 4th most yards (377.3) to opposing offenses, which means lots of opportunity for the Cardinals offense and lots of motivation for the Commanders offense to keep scoring.  In addition, I love the rushing floor for Daniels and Murray, so they’re among my favorite QB plays this week.

  • The Cincinnati Bengals @ Carolina Panthers game has the second highest over/under (47), and it’s all because Andy “Red Rifle” Dalton is starting for the Panthers making the offense actually competent.  For the Bengals, I’m in on Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Zach Moss.  For the Panthers, I’m mostly just in on Diontae Johnson, as noted above, but I’m OK with rostering Andy Dalton a few places if you’re looking for a punt play at QB.  Chase, in particular, finally broke out in Week 3 with 6 receptions on 7 targets for 118 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns and is hilariously underpriced on Yahoo DFS, so definitely take advantage of that.
  • Jordan Mason has been a revelation since getting the bell cow treatment with Christian McCaffrey on IR.  Mason has the 4th highest snap share (79%) among running backs this season, which has led to an average of 108 rush yards, 4 targets, 1.3 receptions, and 6.7 receiving yards per game.  The opportunity is there and the production has been elite.  He’s particularly well priced on Draft Kings.
  • Stefon Diggs has a very healthy 21.4% target share, and the 2nd most red zone targets on the Texans.  With Tank Dell ruled out, Diggs should pick up a couple extra looks against a Jacksonville defense that has allowed the 8th most receiving yards and the 9th most fantasy points per target to slot receivers.  He’s cheaper than Nico Collins across industry, so I’ like taking advantage of that, but feel free to sprinkle in Collins as well.
  • As for defense, you know I love paying down and getting value to spend more of the cap space elsewhere, and this week we got some decent options with the Houston Texans Defense facing the turnover prone Jacksonville Jaguars, the Las Vegas Raiders Defense facing the Cleveland Browns and, on Yahoo, the Kansas City Chiefs Defense against the Los Angeles Chargers, who will likely be missing a number of offensive linemen and at best will have a gimpy Justin Herbert.

Good luck everyone with your Week 4 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 5 Cash Lineup suggestions!
