The 9th Annual Football Garbage Time Fantasy Football League Draft Results!
By the Football Garbage Time Staff & Friends
I can’t believe it’s the 9th year we’ve done this, but here we are! Another season for the Football Garbage Time Fantasy Football League with our friends around the industry, including:
- Dan Thury (“Thyrybff”) and Kris Hopper (“Bishop Sycamore”) from the Beer Fueled Fantasy Football Podcast
- Adam Aniba (“B&G Report 42”) from The Burgundy & Gold Report
- Wole Akinso (“Urbane Sports Scene”) and Will Shorter (“And The Winner is…”) of the Urban Sports Scene Podcast
- Trevor Story (“Trev’s Gang”) from Full Press Coverage and Ref the District (and co-host of the Football Garbage Time NFL Podcast!)
- Mike Wallace (“Other Mike Wallace”)
- Scott King (“FXP”), Kaiden King (“The winter soldier”), Joanne Kong (“Chasing 1st”) and I (“Justin Time”) from Football Garbage Time
To keep things interesting, we’re a half PPR league with the following weekly roster: 1 x QB, 2 x RB, 2 x WR, 1 x TE, 1 x FLEX (RB/WR/TE), 1 x Super FLEX (QB/RB/WR/TE), 1 x K and 1 x DEF.
And here’s the results of our draft:
Certainly, we saw many of the trends we’d expect in 12-team half PPR leagues including:
- RBs Drafted slightly earlier than WRs (13 RBs and 9 WRs in the first three rounds)
- Four Top TEs taken in first 5 Rounds (with Travis Kelce going in Round 1)
- The majority of QBs were drafted between Rounds 5 and 9 (16 total)
- Ks and DEFs largely taken in the last three rounds (6 Ks and 7 DEFs drafted in the last three rounds)
Scott King also had these thoughts on the draft:
“This year’s draft went about as expected. We added a super flex which I don’t think everyone picked up on. There are no RBs that I like late and that’s going to cost me in all my leagues. I’m deep at WR and QB, so hope to make some trades when needed.”
