Without further to do, here we go:
Week 9 Games
Ha Kung’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Last year I ended up with a 64.7% record for the season, so that’s seven years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. Plus, I had a 75.5% record on Locks of the Week and a 58% record on Upsets of the Week. I had an OK week going 8-7 in Week 8, with a total of 77-45 for the season (63.1%), 5-3 for Locks of Week, and 4-4 for Upsets of the Week. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on stopping now!
Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 9…
Lock of the Week ➡ Kansas City Chiefs (-12.5) over Tennessee Titans
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a bye and have the second most yards per game (403.3) in the NFL. The Titans on the other hand are not coming off a bye and have the least yards per game (285.6) in the NFL. Sometimes it really is that simple. Don’t over think it. Lock it in.
Upset of the Week ➡ Jacksonville Jaguars (+1.5) over Las Vegas Raiders
The Jacksonville Jaguars are only 2-6, but they lost everyone of those 6 games by only 1 score. They have the 9th most yards per game (363.0) in the NFL and on defense surprisingly is tied for the 6th most interceptions (8). The Raiders were a complete mess in Week 8 and couldn’t do anything right. I like the Jaguars for the upset.
Joanne’s Picks
Joanne’s Thoughts:
I was very egotistical to think my picking against the New York Giants would push them to win. I’d like to think superstition has a place, and rituals are done for a reason until proven wrong. The New York Giants are on a bye-week after a crushing loss to the Seattle Seahawks. 6-2 for the season, the Giants are tied with the Dallas Cowboys and 3rd in the NFC East rankings. As week 9 approaches the Giants will need to regroup and figure out how to come back from the bye week stronger against the Houston Texans in week 10.
