#Revenge Games to Watch in NFL Week 1

Not good enough that we’re playing actual NFL games this weekend that matter? Love the NFL but also love watching reality TV on Bravo and TLC (don’t deny it, I know you watch them)? Miss the drama of Amber Heard versus Johnny Depp? No problem, Week 1 of the NFL has you covered.
Plenty of #narrative and #revenge in your football games this weekend with QBs facing their former teams, so let’s take a look and get ready for some drama!
Cleveland Browns @ Carolina Panthers
Line: Even
Over/Under: 42
The Cleveland Browns will be without their really expensive $230M starting QB Deshaun Watson (who was suspended for 11 games) and get to face the QB they kicked to curb, Baker Mayfield (also known for his superior insurance commercials, which unfortunately will not continue in Carolina), now starting for the Carolina Panthers, who appear to be trying to collect every former 2018 1st round drafted QB in signing Mayfield after they signed Sam Darnold last year. Recall that Baker Mayfield was selected first overall in the 2018 draft, the same draft that Sam Darnold was selected third overall. Unfortunately Josh Allen (picked seventh) and Lamar Jackson (picked thirty-second) were the other two QBs selected in the first round of the 2018 draft and they are not likely be going anywhere in the near future. With Jacoby Brissett set to start for the Browns this weekend, I’m thinking Browns fans are going to fondly recall the time that Mayfield was their starter, at least for Week 1.
Are you rooting for Baker Mayfield on Sunday?

Baltimore Ravens @ New York Jets
Line: BAL -6.5
Over/Under: 44
The New York Jets will be without their starting QB Zach Wilson for at least 3 weeks, which allows Joe Flacco to rise from the dead and start under center for the “J-E-T-S Jet Jets Jets” against the team that Flacco brought to the Super Bowl, the Baltimore Ravens headed up by the afore mentioned Lamar Jackson, otherwise known as the guy that got Flacco kicked to the curb. I don’t expect the Jets to have much success, particularly with the Jets left tackle, Duane Brown, out as well. And with Jackson betting on himself and turning down the Ravens’ most recent contract extension offer, you can bet that Jackson won’t be holding back on the field.
Jets ruled out OT Duane Brown for Sunday’s opener vs. the Ravens due to a shoulder injury and are not ruling out the idea that he ultimately will have to go on IR.

Denver Broncos @ Seattle Seahawks
Line: DEN -6.5
Over/Under: 44.5
And of course, the Denver Broncos start what they hope will be a winning season with their new QB Russell Wilson (which costed them five draft picks, including two first-rounders and two second-rounders, as well as three players and a 5-year $245M contract extension), who will face off against his old team and the team that drafted him, the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle. And recall that Russell Wilson brought the Seahawks to win their one and only Super Bowl in 2013 against none other than the Denver Broncos, then led by fellow geriatric QB Peyton Manning. The Seahawks on the other hand will be starting cringeworthy Geno Smith, former 2013 2nd round Draft pick of the New York Jets, who started only 2 games between 2015 and 2020, before starting 3 games for the Seahawks last year when Wilson was injured. Keep in mind that Smith has 37 career interceptions to just 34 career passing TDs, so this game might go south quickly for the Seahawks. Wilson was so unconcerned that he spent last week tooling around the US Open. But honestly, do you blame him?
