We normally give you our player prop bets in our weekly “Scares & Dares” podcast episode, but unfortunately, we couldn’t get you this week’s episode in time. For that, we’re sorry.
But we’re collectively 87.5% on our player prop bets this year, so we can’t leave you hanging on winning money in Week 3 of the NFL! Here’s a special edition “Just the Dares!” with our picks for Week 3! You’re welcome.😎
Ha Kung’s Picks
- David Montgomery went off in Week 2 against a decent Packers defense for 122 rush yards on 15 carries and a TD. Now he faces a Texans defense that 30th against the run. The Bears have only attempted 28 total passes over 2 weeks, so it’s pretty clear that the Bears are going to lean on the run. I think this all adds up to OVER 69.5 rush yards for Montgomery.
- Jalen Hurts has been a total beast this year. And a big part of that is his scrambling ability as he has the most rush yards of any QB this year, averaging a monstrous 73.5 yards per game. The Commanders defense are ranked just 28th against the run, and like the Bears, the Eagles are clearly going ground heavy. It would really surprise me if Hurts doesn’t go OVER 53.5 rush yards.
Joanne’s Picks
- The Baltimore Ravens had a surprising loss in week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, but he threw for 318 passing yards, not to mention 110 rushing yards.
In 2021, Jackson threw for over 217.5 yards in 9 out of 11 starts. The New England Patriots have averaged 197 passing yards this season, against the Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Lamar Jackson is an elite quarterback in the league and with a “work in progress” New England defense. Jackson should easily throw for OVER 217.5 pass yards. - Although Carson Wentz hasn’t been an Eagle since 2020, this is technically a revenge game. Wentz, who helped the Philadelphia Eagles get to and win the Super Bowl, is probably looking to defeat his old team, and help his new one get one step closer to the post season. Wentz has thrown for over 300 passing yards in his first two games this season. I don’t see why he can’t do it again. The Eagles defense have allowed only an average of 203.5 passing yards, but its only week 3. Wentz will go OVER 240.5 pass yards.
