In 2020, we were over 70% for cash lineups and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 14 of the 2021 season!
You’re welcome. ?
As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups. Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below. Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!
And this year, we’re also adding our ThriveFantasy prop picks to help you win even MORE money!
Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 14 of the 2021 NFL season!
Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games. They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.
Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.
First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:
- For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.
Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games. Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.
As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider. You’re welcome. ?
ThriveFantasy is actually quite a bit different. There you have your choice of various player prop bets to pick from. You can enter a traditional contest where you pick the Over or Under on 10 of the available prop bets, getting more points for risker picks, and compete for the most points in the contest. Or you can just select two, three, or four player prop bets to create a custom lineup from the list of player predictions. Pick 2/2 correctly, win 3.6x your entry amount ($10 entry wins $36). Pick 3/3 correctly win 6.2x your entry. Pick 4/4 correctly win 11x your entry amount. The only limitation is that you choose athletes from more than one team to be able to enter.
I’ll be providing my 2 way prop bet picks each and every week!

Game Notes:
- For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS. We all know that the likes of Josh Allen and Davante Adams are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week. But remember that DFS is a salary cap game. You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around. I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
- The “Free Square of the Week”™ is Jeff Wilson Jr. Eli Mitchell is out with an injury leaving Wilson to be the odds on favorite to carry the load against a Cincinnati defense that’s allowed 90 yards per game and the 5th most fantasy points to opposing RBs over the last five weeks. The 49ers are a run first team, and Wilson is priced low and a decent value across industry, so just lock him in.
- The Buffalo Bills @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers has the highest over/under (54.5) of the regular slate, with the Bucs favored by 1.5. This game has all the makings of a shootout, with two top teams vying for playoff positioning. The Bills need this win bad and I like Stefon Diggs, Dawson Knox and Josh Allen, in that order. The Bucs have been on a roll of late and I like Tom Brady, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski and Leonard Fournette, in that order.
- Keenan Allen is out, so I really like Austin Ekeler and Mike Williams against the soft New York Giants secondary.
- Taysom Hill isn’t doing too well over the air but still managed to have the 3rd most fantasy points of all QBs last week based on his rushing floor. And that’s after throwing 4 INTs. Even though he has an injured finger this week, he squares off against the Jets’ last ranked defense and should be able to run all over them. He’s pretty discounted and is a good way to open up cap space at other positions.
- Cam Newton gets a bye week to get in sync with the offense and has a terrific matchup against a Falcons’ bottom-10 defense. I like this as a get-right game at a discount.
- Josh Jacobs gets most of the backfield to himself this week with Kenyan Drake on the shelf due to injury, plus he gets a matchup against the weak Chiefs defense.
- On defense, I love taking value and paying down, which means that I like the Los Angeles Chargers defense on FanDuel and Yahoo at an inexplicably discounted price against the Giants who are starting Mike Glennon at less than 100%. On Draft Kings, since the Chargers are priced up, I like a pivot to the Seattle Seahawks defense against the Houston Texans starting Davis Mills under center and the San Francisco 49ers defense against the Bengals who allowed 6 sacks and 4 giveaways last week against the aforementioned Chargers.
- With regard to ThriveFantasy, I’m in on the Tyreek Hill receiving yards prop and Josh Jacobs rushing yards prop. Tyreek Hill had a surprisingly down week but is not so quietly averaging the 3rd most receptions (7.16) on the 3rd most targets (10.58) per game this season. Plus, even with the down week he averages 79.5 receiving yards per week, so I think he manages to exceed 77.5 against the Raiders, who don’t have the corners to contain Hill. You already know how I feel about Jacobs this week with Drake on the shelf. I think his opportunity increases and he manages to exceed 57.5 rush yards.
- Joanne’s thoughts on her picks:
- Cordarrelle Patterson (ATL) @ Carolina Panthers
- Over/Under 93.5 passing and rushing yards
- Patterson has been a difference maker for this Atlanta team. He’s had 5 games this season under 93.5 yards with combined rushing and passing yards. Surprisingly, the Carolina Panthers have the 2nd best defense, allowing opposing teams only an average of 290.9 yards per game. Both teams have struggled this season, but with Patterson being a force on the field, I’m going to give him the edge.
- Lamar Jackson (BAL) @ Cleveland Browns
- Over/Under 229.5 passing yards
- Lamar Jackson has only had two games this under 229.5 passing yards this season. First at week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers with 167 passing yards and second at week 12 against the Cleveland Browns at 165 passing yards. Lamar Jackson is headed to Cleveland in week 14. It might be logically to deduce that Lamar Jackson would have less then 229.5 passing yards against the Browns, currently ranked the 8th best defense against the pass game, averaging 210.3 yards per game. Although, I predict it will be a low scoring game. Lamar Jackson will throw for over 229.5 passing yards.
- Joanne’s thoughts on her picks:
Good luck everyone with your Week 14 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 15 Cash Lineups!
