Without further to do, here we go:
Week 8 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Last year I ended up with a 68.1% record for the season, so that’s six years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. I got back on track with 15 of 16 in Week 6 and with a solid performance in Week 7 am sitting at a healthy 72-35 (67.3%) on the year. Last year, I had a 87.5% record on Locks of the Week and a 50% record on Upsets of the Week. So far I’m 83.3% (6-1) on my Locks and 57.1% (4-3) on my Upsets this year, so it looks like we’re well on track. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on stopping now!
Let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 8…
Lock of the Week ➡ Buffalo Bills (-13.5) over Miami Dolphins
The Bills are coming off a bye and have the 6th most yards (411.5) and the 2nd most points (33.8) per game this season. Josh Allen looks near unstoppable at the moment and having a full extra week to plan against the lowly Dolphins honestly seems like overkill. Tua has not looked good in his return, and the Dolphins now have the 5th least yards (307.6) and 4th least points (18.1) per game this season. I know it seems obvious, but lock in the Bills this week.
Upset of the Week ➡ Pittsburgh Steelers (+3.5) over Cleveland Browns
Are the Steelers a lot worse than we thought at the beginning of the season? Absolutely. Are the Browns a better team? We think so, but that’s not clear, particularly when they’re not healthy. We don’t know the status of Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt or Baker Mayfield, not to mention Jarvis Landry picking up a new injury at practice and OBJ perhaps aggravating his shoulder injury last week. Even if they’re all back, I don’t think they’re all going to be 100% and the Steelers have had a bye week to prepare. The Steelers have won their last 4 games after the bye, so don’t estimate what an additional week of planning can do. Steelers get the upset.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
Started my comeback last week and will continue it by backing Green Bay Thursday night. Both the Packers and Cardinals were looking ahead to this game and managed to survive poor performances. This nothing more than a hunch play as it is tough to go 8-0 and I’m thinking the Cardinals are due to get beat.
Went with San Francisco over Chicago because it looks like Khalil Mack won’t play.
Philadelphia is really struggling and the natives are restless. It will get worse when Detroit finally kicks the door down at home and wins.
If Geno Smith could’ve given Seattle anything after the big TD pass to D.K. Metcalf then they would’ve beat New Orleans last week. He didn’t and the Seahawks home field isn’t a fortress anymore. Trevor Lawrence dissects that defense and the Jaguars win.
Everyone, their mother and their dog will be on the Bucs this week. Reminder: even with noodle armed Drew Brees the Saints swept Tampa in the regular season last year (though the Bucs did win in the playoffs). That New Orleans defense is still tough and one of the few that could contain Tampa’s varied attack. Take the Saints!
