In 2020, we were over 70% for cash lineups and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 4 of the 2021 season!
You’re welcome. ?
As usual, before we get to winning you more bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups. Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below. Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!
And this year, we’re also adding our ThriveFantasy prop picks to help you win even MORE money!
Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 4 of the 2021 NFL season!
Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games. They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.
Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.
First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:
- For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
- For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.
Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games. Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.
As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider. You’re welcome. ?
ThriveFantasy is actually quite a bit different. There you have your choice of various player prop bets to pick from. You can enter a traditional contest where you pick the Over or Under on 10 of the available prop bets, getting more points for risker picks, and compete for the most points in the contest. Or you can just select two, three, or four player prop bets to create a custom lineup from the list of player predictions. Pick 2/2 correctly, win 3.6x your entry amount ($10 entry wins $36). Pick 3/3 correctly win 6.2x your entry. Pick 4/4 correctly win 11x your entry amount. The only limitation is that you choose athletes from more than one team to be able to enter.
I’ll be providing my 2 way prop bet picks each and every week!

Game Notes:
- For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position for DFS. We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey are probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week. But remember that DFS is a salary cap game. You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around. I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
- My approach to DFS in Week 4 is to get value from my WRs and pay up elsewhere. I also like going with one mid-range and one high-range RB, as I think there’s some good mid-range options this week for you to save some cap space.
- The “Free Square of the Week”™ is Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Both Julio Jones and A.J. Brown have been ruled out with hamstring injuries, and although the Titans are likely to just up the commitment on the ground against the lowly Jets, the Titans are not going to get away with not throwing the ball at all. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine stepped in last week once both Jones and Brown were out and caught all 4 of his targets for 53 yards and a TD. He’s almost minimum price across industry, so feel free to use him to open up cap space for your QB and RB.
- The Houston Texans @ Buffalo Bills game has an over/under of (47), with the Bills favored by 17. Clearly, the Bills should be able to move the ball without issue, so I really like most of the Bills offense, including Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Zack Moss, Cole Beasley and Devin Singletary, in that order. Although the Bills might get ahead early and look to kill clock on the ground, Allen has the 4th most pass attempts in the NFL over the first 3 weeks, so I think they’ll continue to throw even if up big (as long as it’s not TOO big). I’ll probably stay away from the Texans though, as it’s unclear how much production they’ll have and from who.
- In Week 3, Alvin Kamara had a season-high 27 touches, totaling 118 combined yards and a TD. The Giants have allowed a whopping 499 combined yards with 2 TDs and 7 receptions to RBs over the first three weeks, which provides an excellent opportunity for Kamara to build on his Week 3 numbers.
- The Bears have been a little offense-challenged over the last two weeks, particularly in Week 3 with some abysmal play-calling. However, David Montgomery has been on the field for 80.9 percent of the Bears’ plays over that time and RBs have gained 356 total yards with 6 TDs and nine catches against the Lions. Montgomery is priced down across industry and won’t need much to hit value, and the plus match-up provides plenty of upside.
- No Jerry Jeudy and no KJ Hamler means more looks for top TE Noah Fant. Plus, the Ravens have the 3rd worst pass defense in the NFL, coupled with Fant already getting the 8th most targets of any TE this season, mean that there’s plenty of upside.
- On defense, I love taking value and paying down, which has me all in on the Washington Football Team defense against the less-than-stellar Matt Ryan as well as the Chicago Bears defense against the luckless Lions. Washington has been underperforming on defense, but the Falcons are an excellent get right spot as they have the 5th least amount of yards per game (301.3) and 8th lowest passer rating in the NFL. The Bears actually have the 3rd most sacks in the NFL (11) and will likely have plenty more opportunity against Jared Goff.
- With regard to ThriveFantasy, I really like the Josh Allen and Zach Wilson passing yards props. You already know how about Allen, and I feel pretty good about him exceeding 279.5 passing yards. Zach Wilson has been a mess because, in part, to a terrible offensive line. But he’s still slinging it as he’s exceeded 33 passing attempts in each of the first 3 weeks, and the Titans defense is allowing the 9th highest passer rating over that time to opposing QBs.
Good luck everyone with your Week 4 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 5 Cash Lineups!
