Without further to do, here we go:
Conference Championship Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Last year I ended up with a 64.7% record for the season, so that’s five years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. Plus, I had a 88.2% record on Locks of the Week and a 64.7% record on Upsets of the Week. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on stopping now!
We had an OK Divisional Playoff weekend going 2-2, leaving us at 183-81 for the season (69.3%), which is pretty darn good. Almost there, but still have 3 more picks to go! I’m also rolling with 17-2 (89.5%) for Locks of the Week and 8-10 (44.4%) for Upsets of the Week. But I’ve got plenty of work to do, so let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for the Conference Championships…

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
Tampa Bay at Green Bay: If this is anything other than a Packers blowout I will be surprised. Green Bay looked rusty and a bit lethargic at times against the Rams but eventually got going. And this is Aaron Rodgers first NFC title game at home, he’s been waiting for this for a long time.
Tampa Bay ran the football well and was opportunistic on Saints turnovers. Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones combined for 125 yards on 30 carries. But the Bucs combined yardage on their three touchdown drives was 63. Are they really going to force 4 turnovers again. And how will the aging Tom Brady hold up in sub 30-degree temperatures? There’s a reason he chose Tampa to play in. The Bucs beat a QB signed off the street 4 weeks ago and a HOF quarterback that was simply incapable of playing the position at even a replacement QB level. Rodgers will be far tougher than that.
Buffalo at Kansas City: There are so many reason to take the Bills. Questions about Patrick Mahomes toe (which was always a bigger concern than the concussion in my eyes). Kansas City’s offense hasn’t looked anything near its best for 2 months. Buffalo is one of the few teams that has the offensive firepower to keep up with KC in a shootout, even with the Bills struggles running the football. Chiefs are relying on Darrell Williams due to injuries and Clyde Edwards-Hellaire’s struggles.
And yet the Chiefs always seem to make the one more play they need to make. Last week it was Chad flipping Henne with the big run and a completion to convert a 3rd and 14 into a first down. And so often it’s Mahomes sheer brilliance that does it. And as fantastic as the Bills are thus is their first time in this situation. And this is old hat for the Chiefs, it’s their third consecutive AFC title game. And that will be the difference.
