In 2019, we were over 70% for cash lineups and we’re back with more Daily Fantasy Football advice for Cash Games for Week 13 of the 2020 season!  We’re 68.0% on lineups so far this year, but we’re looking to win even more in 2020!

As usual, before we get to winning you bragging rights (and DFS cash), remember, the point of this article is not just to give you one or two lineups for each site, it’s to give you examples of a few POSSIBLE lineups.  Getting exposure to a few different lineups is always a good idea, so don’t forget to mix and match additional lineups from my suggestions below.  Trust me, it’s a lot more fun that way AND you’ll improve your chances of cashing!

Let’s get to winning you some CASH in Week 13 of the 2020 NFL season!

Daily Fantasy Football

Cash Games, for those who don’t know, are essentially the lowest risk games.  They include “50/50” games, in which half the entrants win about 1.8x the entry fee, and “Double Ups”, in which slightly less than half the entrants win 2x the entry fee.

Since there’s so many different sites, and I can’t cover them all, I’ve decided to cover just the most popular sites, including Fan Duel, Draft Kings and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy.

First of all, as a general rule for 50/50 Cash Games, there’s a basic target of points per salary cap spent that you’d like to look for:

  • For Fan Duel try to target at least 2 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Draft Kings, try to target at least 2.5 fantasy points per $1000 spent.
  • For Yahoo! Daily Fantasy, try to target at least 0.6-0.7 fantasy points per $1 spent.

Remember, this article is not focused on GPP (Tournament) Games, JUST Cash Games.  Feel free to use a few of these suggested players as a base when constructing a GPP lineup, but you’ll have to take some chances on a few low cost, upside players as well.

As per usual, I’m going to provide you with a few sample lineups on each site and give you a few notes to consider.  You’re welcome. ?

So, without further to do, here are my suggestions for the Best Daily Fantasy Football Plays for Cash Games for Week 13 contests, along with they’re prices on FanDuel (“FD”), Draft Kings (“DK”) and Yahoo! Daily Fantasy (“Y!”).

Game Notes:

  • For those new to this column, note that I never advocate against you paying up at any particular position.  We all know that the likes of Patrick Mahomes is probably going to have the most consistent upside in terms of potential fantasy points from week to week.  But remember that DFS is a salary cap game.  You can feel free to sprinkle high priced players into your lineups, but you can’t pay up at every position because there’s simply not enough salary to go around.  I try my best each week to provide my thoughts on how you might want to balance your cash lineups in terms of points potential and salary.
  • The “Free Squares of the Week”™ are Devontae Booker and Andy Firkser. The Jets have allowed the 4th most points per game (29.3) and the 5th most total yards per game (395.0) this season.  Josh Jacobs is out with an ankle injury leaving Booker as the starting RB in this great matchup, and all at a nice discount.  Jonnu Smith is also out with an ankle injury, leaving both Firkser and Geoff Swaim as the available TEs for the Titans.  Sure, they may split snaps, but in Week 6, when Smith was out, Firkser came on and turned 9 targets into 8 catches for 113 yards and a TD.  For his minimum pricing, I’m willing to take that chance.
    • The Browns @ Titans game should be an interesting one with the highest over/under of the weekend (53), so in addition Firkser as a value play, I’m also in on RBs on both side in Nick Chubb and Derek Henry.  Chubb has been destroying defenses since returning from injury, logging 3 straight weeks with 100-plus rushing yards, averaging 128 rush yards per week. And I’m not worried about Kareem Hunt as he’s had some limited practices recently and Chubb is averaging 51.3% of the carries since he returned compared to 36% for Hunt.  King Henry requires no introduction.  He has the most yards (1,257) and 2nd most rushing TDs (12) of any RB this season.  To the extent you can, load up on either or both.
  • Aaron Rodgers has the most passing TDs (33) and highest passer rating (117.6) of any QB this season.  And Davante Adams is his favorite target with the 3rd most targets per game (11) of any WR in the NFL.  The Eagles pass defense is relatively solid, but I think Rodgers and Adams are matchup proof, and Rodgers is actually affordable across the industry,
  • All Ryan Fitzpatrick does is ball out.  I have to admit, although I could care less about the Dolphins, I do like watching him play.  He’s priced down as there’s a chance that Tua returns, but with a mid-week injury coming off an existing injury, I’d expect the Dolphins to played it safe with their first round draft pick and rely on Fitz-Magic to take down the Bengals and their 25th ranked defense.  DeVante Parker also looks like an interesting play.
    • UPDATE (12/6/20 AM) – Current reports are that Tue will start in Week 13 instead of Fitzpatrick.  If so, I’ll likely fade Parker.  And feel free to pivot to Cousins who is similarly priced to Fitzpatrick as per the below example:
  • Kirk Cousins hasn’t been great, but he keeps putting up points, and Week 13 brings lines up to be another good one against a Jaguars defense that’s 3rd worst in the NFL.  Cousins has at least 30 pass attempts in three-straight games and is averaging 29 overall on the year.  He should easily hit value.  And with that, I also really like Cousin’s favorite target, Adam Thielen, who also has ridiculously high endzone target share of 38.5%.
  • At defense, I usually just take value, and there are a couple good choices this week depending on the site. As you can see, I like paying down for the Los Angeles Chargers defense against a Patriots team with the 5th lowest passer rating and with the 3rd most interceptions (13) this season, or paying down to essentially minimum salary to take the Atlanta Falcons defense against the Taysom Hill led New Orleans Saints.  I think we saw Hill’s true colors in Week 12, so I’d expect at least a few sacks and maybe a turnover for essentially minimum price.  I don’t mind paying up a little for the Indianapolis Colts defense, one of the best in the NFL, against the Houston Texans who now lost their top receiving option in Will Fuller.

Good luck everyone with your Week 12 Cash Lineups, and I’ll see you next week for some Week 13 Cash Lineup suggestions!
