“Pick ‘Em or Kick ‘Em”™: FGT VS. Urban Sports Scene Week 7 NFL Picks
By the Football Garbage Time Staff
If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year. And if you’ve been following us, you know that we here at Football Garbage Time have gone head to head against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks for the last 4 seasons. Why? Because they’re awesome competitors, they KNOW their sports, and, heck, they’re just good guys! This year we’ll have their picks up right HERE, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.
Without further to do, here we go:
Week 7 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Last year I ended up with a 64.7% record for the season, so that’s five years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. Plus, I had a 88.2% record on Locks of the Week and a 64.7% record on Upsets of the Week. Don’t worry, I don’t plan on stopping now!
We had a solid Week 6 going 11-3, leaving us at 65-25 for the season (72.2%), which is pretty darn good. But I’ve got plenty of work to do, so let’s get to that Lock (for Survivor Leagues) and Upset for Week 7…
Lock of the Week ➡ Buffalo Bills (-15.5) over New York Jets
I think you probably are starting to see a pattern. You can disagree if you want, but the Jets are a complete dumpster fire. The Jets that release their best player last week in Le’Veon Bell and are proud owners of the 2nd worst pass defense in the NFL per DVOA. Josh Allen has been on a mini-slide, but this is a get right opportunity if I ever saw one. Sometimes it’s best not to overthink it. Just lock em’ in.
Upset of the Week ➡ Arizona Cardinals (+3.5) over Seattle Seahawks
Did you realize that the once fearsome Seahawks defense now are the 26th ranked defense overall in the NFL per DVOA? Kylar Murray is rounding into form with DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk now back, and even Kenyan Drake got it rolling in Week 6. And the Cardinals defense is quietly the 9th best defense in the NFL per DVOA. There’s no underestimating how much Russell Wilson can do, and the Seahawks do have the better offense. But the game was recently elevated to Sunday Night Football, and this is the perfect opportunity for Murray and friends to prove to the world that they’re ready to compete. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an upset.
Joanne Kong’s Picks
Survivor Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
Scott King’s Picks
Scott’s Thoughts:
Here we go. We’re closing in on the halfway point in the season. We saw early on the limitations were experiencing with a preseason. I’m starting to understand who is who and what’s what. Need a big week to get back into this one.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
Already behind the 8-ball thanks to the Giants choking away the game against Philadelphia.
Survivor pick: Cleveland to beat the Bengals again. They can beat the teams as good or worse than them. It’s the best teams they have a problem with.
Game of the week: Pittsburgh at Tennessee is another battle of the unbeatens. And the Titans are getting no respect, they are a home dog despite being 5-0 and having one of the hottest QB-RB combos going. And Pittsburgh just lost their best defensive player in Devin Bush. His absence will be the difference.
Others: Washington’s inexorable drive towards picking in the top two for the second straight year will continue against Dallas. If it doesn’t get postponed and the Raiders get most of their offensive line back from #COVID19 tests they will upset the Buccaneers. Big let down spot for Tampa Bay. The L.A. Rams are 0 for the non NFC East this season. And given the struggles of their line to protect Jared Goff, I expect that to continue against the surprising Bears.
