Without further to do, here we go:
Week 14 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Last year I ended up with a 66% record for the season, so that’s four years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. I had a decent week 13, going 9-7, leaving me in 2nd place and only one pick off 1st with a 123-68 record (64.4%).
Plus, I had a 94% record on Locks of the Week last year. This year, I’m 11-2 for Locks of the Week (how did the Panthers lose to the Redskins???), and I’m now 7-6 on Upsets of the Week.
Let’s get to that Lock and Upset for Week 14…
Lock of the Week => Green Bay Packers (-13.0) over Washington Redskins
Well, I was running this column Eliminator style and NOT picking a team that I previously picked as a Lock, but the Panthers lost it for me in Week 13, so for that, I apologize. So this Week, we’re going back to the top lock, which is the Green Bay Packers over the Washington Redskins.
Yes, the Redskins surprised me last weekend and knocked off the Panthers in relatively convincing fashion, but I’m not convinced they’ll be suddenly consistently competitive, particularly against a team like the Packers. It’s interesting to note that the Redskins actually have a slightly defense per DVOA as compared to the Packers (19 vs. 22), but the Packers have the far superior offense (7th) as compared to the LAST PLACE Redskins offense, so I’m not too worried. Plus, the Packers are motivated to lock up the NFC North and start hunting for home field advantage in the playoffs. Lock ’em in.
Upset of the Week => Kansas City Chiefs (+3.0) over New England Patriots
Wow, I felt bold picking the Ravens over the Patriots several weeks back, but I definitely didn’t see the upset coming that the Texans pulled last Monday night. It’s starting to look like (1) the Patriots defense have difficulty with mobile QBs (and I said mobile, not scrambling or running QBs), as they let Deshaun Watson pass for 3 TDs and even get open to catch a TD, and (2) the Patriots offense isn’t what it used to be. Houston’s defense is ranked 25th per DVOA in the NFL, so they’re not scary at all, but the Patriots were still unable to keep up offensively. Kansas City has a better defense than Houston (ranked 15th) and has a better offense (3rd vs. 8th) helmed by previous MVP Patrick Mahomes. I smell an upset.
Joanne Kong’s Picks
Scott King’s Picks
Scott’s Thoughts:
Nothing pithy, but these will not be the final picks. There are some really tough games this week and I need to do some more studying. Keep grinding.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
Taking Dallas in Thursday night’s game but can’t make a good case for either team in that game.
Lamar Jackson continues to pass the very difficult tests put before him. And even though Buffalo’s defense is beastly, especially at home, Lamar Jackson is a better at being a QB that Buffalo is at defense. Take the Ravens.
It’s a third consecutive hard game for the 49ers at the Saints but I expect them to run the football to keep New Orleans’ offense off the field and the 49ers front four to harass Drew Brees. Take San Francisco.
Gardner Minshew is back (1 week later than I expected) and that means the Jaguars will beat the Chargers.
Russell Wilson will continue to press his MVP case by leading the Seahawks to a win that will finish the Rams playoff hopes.
Yes it will be cold in Foxboro but Mahomes is healthy enough to run around and that’s the Kryptonite for the Patriots defense. Chiefs win!
