2018 Week 12 NFL Picks
By the Football Garbage Time Staff
If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year. And if you’ve been following us, you know that we here at Football Garbage Time have gone head to head against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks for the last 3 seasons. Why? Because they’re awesome competitors, they KNOW their sports, and, heck, they’re just good guys! But this year we’ll have their picks up right HERE each and every week, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.
Without further to do, here we go:
Week 12 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Last year I ended up with a 62% record for the season, so that’s three years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. I had a decent Week 11, getting me to 106-53 (66.7%). And I intend to keep you at 62%+, as well as keep you ahead of Ryan.
So far this season I’m 10 for 11 on Locks of the Week and 5 for 11 for Upsets of the Week. Let’s see what I can do for you for Week 12…
Lock of the Week => New England Patriots (-10.5) over New York Jets
Believe it or not, the Jets have the 12th ranked defense in the NFL per DVOA. But that’s not going to matter much facing a Patriots team coming off a bye. The Patriots the 7th most points per game (28.0) of any offense in the NFL, and although Tom Brady has been subpar in recent weeks, there’s no doubt that Bill Belichick will be able to game plan for the hapless Jets, particularly with Sony Michel fully healthy and Rob Gronkowski expected back. And the Jets should help the Pats out by having the second most giveaways (INTs & fumbles) in the NFL (22). Worst yet, Sam Darnold isn’t even practicing, which may mean more Josh “I Should Retire” McCown under center. Go ahead and lock in the Pats for a W this week.
Upset of the Week => San Francisco 49ers (+3.0) over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Clearly, I’m done picking on the Colts. But I’m in on picking on the Bucs. I was at the game last week against the Giants, and although the score looked close at the end, the Giants managed to dominate all aspects of the game. I have zero confidence in Winston, as we’ve seen this Jekyll & Hyde routine before between Winston and FitzMagic/FitzTragic. The Bucs have the 2nd WORST ranked defense that also allows the 5th most yards per game (395.9) in the NFL. The 49ers defense is just middle of the road, but the Bucs offense has the MOST giveaways (INTs & fumbles) of any team in the NFL (29). I think newfound offensive power house Nick Mullens & Co. find a way to get the mild upset this week.

George’s Picks
George’s Thoughts:
Washington at Dallas: Picking the Redskins because Jay Gruden opened up the offense once Colt McCoy got in and in McCoy, Gruden finally has the QB he’s wanted to run this offense all along.
Seattle at Carolina: Panthers are 5-0 at home and that’s the only reason to take them. Seattle is playing better even in defeat than the Panthers have been. That said Carolina would’ve won in Detroit last week if former Redskins kicker Graham Gano had kicked straight.
Green Bay at Minnesota: Only one reason to pick the Packers, Kirk Cousins awful record in primetime football games. And since I was bitten by that last week I am taking a stand against him and the Vikings this week. Taking the Packers.
