2017 Week 17 NFL Picks
By the Football Garbage Time Staff
If you followed last year, you won over 60% of your picks, and we aim to do even better this year.Without further to do, here are our picks:
Week 17 Games
Ha Kung Wong’s Picks
Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
Last year I ended up with a 62% record for the season, so that’s two years in a row with over a 60% pick rate. Had a solid Week 16 bringing me to 151-89 overall, which is a 62.9% pick rate, so we’re in good shape for the season!
So Week 17 is always tough. With all the various playoff scenarios, you have several teams resting players, several teams really needing to win, and many teams that have nothing left to play for. If you’d like an update of all those situations, I’ve outlined that in an another article breaking down these scenarios for Week 17. So, although we’re giving you our picks as of today, that may change depending on what teams decide to do on game day, so check back often for changes.
Last week’s Lock of the Week went as planned with the Ravens over the Colts, but the Upset of the Week missed with the Broncos doing poorly against the Redskins. That makes me 4-2 on Locks and 2-4 on Upsets going into Week 17.
Here are my picks for Week 17, just for you folks in survivor pools, or looking to make a bet on that elusive money line!
Lock of the Week – Baltimore Ravens over the Cincinnati Bengals
Moneyline: Ravens (-450) / Bengals (+350)
Upset of the Week – Cleveland Browns over the Pittsburgh Steelers
Moneyline: Browns (+250) / Steelers (-300)
The Ravens barely made it last week in a game against the Colts they should have dominated, but that’s OK. I have faith that in light of their “win and their in” scenario, they should take care of the hapless Bengals in Week 17.
It’s Week 17, so I’m going BOLD for my Upset of the Week. I’m going with the winless Browns to take down the second string Steelers. We already know that the Steelers are happy with the 2 Seed. Thus, Big Ben and Le’Veon Bell will rest, and Antonio Brown is already out with an injury. I doubt that Landry Jones will be that effective behind center, and I wouldn’t be surprised if even JuJu Smith-Schuster gets some rest in light of recent injuries. The Dawg Pound get to something to celebrate at the end of the season. In addition to Hue Jackson jumping in Lake Erie, that is.

They’re awesome competitors, and they KNOW their sports, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long.
Joanne Kong’s Picks
UPDATE: In light of Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram being inactive, Joanne has switched her pick from the Giants to the Cowboys.
Ryan Whitfield’s Picks
COMING SOON!
Scott King’s Picks
Last week I was tied up with some holiday travel and wasn’t able to provide any interesting commentary. I officially hate all of my Week 17 pick every year. This is the worst week to pick games all year. I’ve fallen from first a few times in the final week a few times in the past. Hope I can hold on this time.
