Ha Kung’s Thoughts:
So my Week 14 wasn’t as good, and I’m sure Ryan will rattle on about that, but I’m still 124-82 (60.1%). I think we all know who the real NFL Pick Guru is around these parts.
Also, just because we love competition here at Football Garbage Time, we’re once again going heads up against Wally, Will and Ray at Urban Sports Scene on our NFL Picks. And the Urban Sports Scene gang manage to slightly edge us in Week 14, leaving us at 5-3-3 against them for the season.
.@FBGarbageTime here are our week 14 results @UrbanSportS_Ray 11-5, Will T and I went 9-7

They’re awesome competitors, and they KNOW their sports, so keep it tuned in, to both us and them, because we’ll be picking all season all long!

Detroit Lions (9-4) @ New York Giants (9-4)
Let’s start the countdown…with 3 games left in the regular season, the Giants are 2nd place in the NFC East and only 2 games away from first place after defeating division rival, and current division leader, Dallas Cowboys in week 14.
Yeah, it was an amazing game.
But, the Giants can’t take their foot off the pedal. Without Jason Pierre-Paul, there was concern how the Giants’ defense would fare, but they clearly stepped up against a tough opponent in the Cowboys.
In week 15, the Giants will host the Detroit Lions. The Lions are at the top of the NFC North, having a five game win streak.
Can the Giants win?
- If the Giants can sweep the Dallas Cowboys, the Giants can defeat the Lions.
- The weather should be warming-up at MetLife on Sunday, if the weather man is correct, the Giants and Lions are looking at 50-degree weather.
- The Giants need to Protect the ball.
Eli Manning had 1-interception and 2 lost fumbles in week 14. The warmer weather should help Eli Manning with better ball control.
- The Giants defense…just keep doing what you’re doing.
There’s no disputing that the week 14 win is credited to the Giants defense, holding the line when it was most important and making defensive plays against the Dallas receivers, including essentially shutting out Dez Bryant. The Giants defense held Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott, to 165 yards, completing only 17 of 37 attempts for a touchdown, 2 interceptions, taking 3 sacks. What’s more impressive than that…the defense held the NFL rushing leader, Ezekiel Elliott, to 107 rushing yards and no rushing touchdowns. With a hole to fill on the defensive line without Jason Pierre-Paul, the defense stepped up and will need to do it again.
- The Giants need to start fast and finish strong.
The Lions, like the Giants, just seem to find ways to win games. Unlike the Giants, the Lions’ ability as a football team hasn’t been questioned this season. The Lions have outscored their opponents 44-24 in the 4th quarter and overtime during their 5-game win streak, as well as overcoming 4th quarter deficits in 4 of those games. Of course, in week 14, they came from behind against the 3-10 Chicago Bears playing their back-up back-up quarterback. The Giants offense needs to avoid mistakes. The Lions defense has 6-interceptions in the final two minutes this season.
We should remember, the Giants have won 7 of their last 8 games, their sole loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
What can we expect in Week 15?
The New York Giants win.
