They’re like the dusty books on your parents’ bedside table. Assuming you ever even took the time to figure out the authors, if you were to mention them, they would still look at you and ask “WHO?!?!” With 32 teams in the NFL and each team with 53-man rosters, that’s a whopping 1696 potential players out on the field each week. And as much as we all love football, there’s no way we can know all 1696 players. So I’m helping you out with this article, which hopefully will shed a little light on some of these 1696 players that you might not know.
Adam Humphries
WR #11 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
A sophomore season wide receiver from Spartanburg, SC (where the killer clowns in the woods have currently been residing), Humphries is a 5’11, red-haired SPEED DEMON. At the 2015 combine, he ran a 4.5 40-yard dash, but to really understand this kid’s speed, you have to watch him return some punts for the Bucs this season. Humphries has always gained attention for his return abilities, but Jameis Winston has recently been paying attention to his hands as well. Humphries already has 9 catches this year (he only had 30 his senior year at Clemson) and has the second most targets on the Bucs, only behind big-man Mike Evans, who has a whopping 24 targets. Watch out Red Lightning, someone’s coming for your title.
Zach Line
FB #48 (Minnesota Vikings)
Once a unplugged SMU fan, Zach Line was my hero. Second all-time in C-USA rushing touchdowns, behind the great DeAngelo Williams, Line has always been an explosive runner. With a 6’0 foot, 235 lb frame, Line was a bully during his college days. Line came into his own at fullback during the 2015 season, pounding into the endzone three times (one a 56 yard receiving touchdown). Line is yet to have a carry in 2016, but with Adrian Peterson being sidelined for a while, expect to see #48 in the redzone soon. Very soon.
